Following the success of its original Palo Alto location, this Bay-side microbrewery and yuppeteria has branched out all over. Guys and dolls continue to make the singles scene at the bar and frequent the restaurant as well. The hearty,… Read Full Editorial
Good beer garden and watery taste by brewits via Citysearch on 12/3/2010
Good location.
Nice beer garden with plenty of life music.
Average food.
Beer is not for beer lovers, watery taste is below average for micro-brewery.
VERY HAPPY CLIENT! by jases via Citysearch on 4/23/2010

Visual flair and fusion fare distinguish this upscale beer hall from smaller microbreweries. by Contributor via Citysearch on 6/24/2008
In Short
Airy, industrial decor lends a lighter, more urban feel to Gordon Biersch than most beer halls. The bar may get crowded after 5pm, when a happy-hour crowd hoists a few pints of seasonal Bavarian-influenced beers. A menu…
Avoid if you like beer and an honest Pint..... by RKPDX via Citysearch on 6/11/2008
Coming from Portland, Or to San Jose on business, figured I'd re-visit a Gordon Biersch pub in down town San Jose. If you 1. like a good local beer, PASS on GB. Beer was way below average, had the Seasonal tap. 2. Then they charged…
Very Nice Beer place by barna d via Insider Pages on 5/17/2008
My husband and his colleagues like to eat here as it is convenient to their office. I have gone here with friends for girls night out. Good garlic fries. The portions are pretty big. Nice varieties of beer.
Garlic Fries by Julie Q via Insider Pages on 5/17/2008
I guess everyone pretty much goes to Gordon Biersch to try their garlic fries--after all it is one of the things they are famous for. I don't really care for the alleyway entrance.

Not the best service, but they have garlic fries, so what can I say?

The first time I had their beer was at the airport when I was waiting for a flight. I've since been a few times to their restaurants and have not been disappointed with the beer. They have a seasonal beer which is really good and I will…
good beer, okay food by P J via Insider Pages on 7/26/2006
I like the beer at GB. I found the staff slightly rude. The place is not very kid friendly. They do sometimes have good live entertainment. There has been a wait for a table the few times I've been there.
PROS: good beer
CONS:
Bad experience by B.R. M. via Judy's Book on 7/25/2006
We went here one day after the Tech Museum when we couldn't find anywhere else (San Jose is dead on the weekends!) and liked the San Francisco location. We got seated with our 2 kids, but that was it. No one ever came back, even though…
Outstanding Brew Pub by Julie R via Insider Pages on 5/30/2006
I went into GB just to have a few appetizers and a drink with a friend. They do an outstanding job. We had quick and friendly service. The food was wonderful. He had the meatloaf and I had some flatbread with different spreads. Both…
Gordon Biersch Restaurant & Brewery by Claire B. via Judy's Book on 1/10/2006
Gordon Biersch is one of my favorite places to eat in downtown San Jose. It's decor is upscale and modern, but housed in an old brick building. The two styles complement each other perfectly. The ales are second to none. Gordon, one of the…

Every dinner I've had here has never been a bad experience. My favorite dishes are the glazed chicken wings, roasted chicken with mash potatoes, seared ahi tuna, roasted chicken with fettuccine, and the gordon biersch burger. My favorite…
Downtown Dining by liesinpies202 via Citysearch on 1/12/2005
I went to Gordon Biersch with a couple of friends a couple of weeks ago. The experience was pleasant. Unfortunately, I only had dessert since I was late, but from what my friends said, the food and beer were great. Our waitors flirted a…

best beer best value by thadleingang via Citysearch on 11/20/2002
I love GB, I always have a pleasant dinning experience with out feeling gouged. Beer is best I have found outside of Germany. Portions are often too large to one. That makes it had to drink more beer.
