In 1959, Frank and Tina D’Ambrosio decided to start a new restaurant venture along with their “Paisans” Mario and Enza Volpe, after Frank had much success with his first restaurant, the original “Frankie, Johnnie, and Luigi Too! In Mountain View, CA. Named after a good friend of theirs, they opened the original “Giorgio’s” in the Foxworthy Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. One year later, cousins Anthony and Louise Dambruoso, affectionately known to the family as “Sash and Lou”, took control of the restaurant and ran it for the next eight years. Pictures and paintings of these folks still grace the walls of the establishment today. In 1968, Frank’s four sons assumed control of the restaurant and still own and operate it to this day. In 1997 they opened a second location in Milpitas, CA, where they still offer the highest standard of quality food, service, and value to their customers. Bon Appetit!!

OK... by Topo via Citysearch on 7/23/2010
Although this place has a nice atmosphere, I feel it is overrated and overpriced. Their pizzas aren't anything special, neither are their pastas and sauces, such as the raviolis and Fettuccini. Their bread with garlic butter is the…

I love this place. They have a family style takeout available and it is well priced. I had the lasagna and it was great. They also offer good drinks.
Food & service great, management disappointing by bb25 via Citysearch on 8/3/2008
The food is really very good, fresh, and very flavorful. The service is always quite good as well. However, the management staff need to pull it together, its a shame such incompetent people have been put in charge of such a promising…

I remember when this restaurant was half the size it is now and was just making a name for itself. The food was excellent then as it still is now. The only difference is there is always a waiting list at dinner time now. Do not be…

I've been going to Giorgio?s for 35 years and it is by far the best Italian food in the San Jose area! Part of the Frankie, Johnny?s chain, this was the first and still the best! From their hand tossed pizza, pasta or chicken the food is…
good food, family style Italian by P J via Insider Pages on 7/25/2006
Giorgios has good food in a family friendly atmosphere. The waits have always been long when we've gone there and the service a bit slow. I recommend making reservations or going on off-hours.
PROS: good food
CONS: long waits
pizza at its best by julie s via Insider Pages on 7/18/2006
Giorgios is a must for pizza lovers. Their pizza is consistently excellent loaded with lots of cheese and toppings. It's just as good taken out as it is to go. The other food is wonderful too, and portions are never skimpy. I grew up…
Poor Service Good Food by madarasi via Citysearch on 5/28/2006
Nobody in the front to seat us for a long time. Even though we insisted that all food needs to be meatless, they had the wrong sauce with the meat in it. Did not even apologize when they saw that they had screwed up. Too busy to even…
Great Pizza by a3puttdude via Citysearch on 5/19/2006
I've been going to Giorgios for 15 years. For a big delicious meaty pizza you can't beat Frank's Fiasco. I'm a big pizza fan and have never had better! \r

Authentic Italian by Virginia G. via Judy's Book on 8/19/2005
Giorgio's is located on Foxworthy Ave right next to Longs Drug Store. It is one of the best Italian restaurants in San Jose. Meals are available at the restaurant or for delivery. There is often a wait of up to an hour to be seated, or…
