J&L Palo Urbano Wood Milling provides mobile sawmill, dry kiln, and custom lumber services throughout Northern California. We serve Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Mendocino, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties, offering on-site wood processing for landowners, contractors, builders, furniture makers, and DIY woodworkers.

We operate one of the only fully equipped mobile sawmills in California, capable of cutting logs into slabs, beams, and dimensional lumber directly at your job site. Our services include log handling, debarking, slab milling, flattening, stickering, and sorting for air or kiln drying.

J&L is also the only known operator in the United States offering a full-size mobile dry kiln, allowing us to kiln-dry hardwoods such as walnut, oak, redwood, and bay laurel on-location. This service saves time, protects material quality, and eliminates the need for hauling and third-party drying facilities—providing extreme convenience for clients with limited access or tight project timelines.

The business is led by an ISA Certified Arborist (WE-10398A), providing expert guidance in tree evaluation, selective removal, lumber recovery, and salvage milling. We often work with storm-damaged trees, land clearing projects, orchard removals, and trees that would otherwise go to waste—helping landowners reclaim usable material and reduce their environmental footprint.

Projects commonly include live edge slab production for tabletops, mantels, benches, bar tops, shelving, and more. We also provide custom-cut dimensional lumber for structural use, fencing, cabinetry, and framing.
