Melvin David Young, MD

Melvin Young, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Young specializes in total hip and knee replacements, using the latest anterior approach for total hip replacements. Prior to joining Baptist Health Orthopedic Care in 2019, Dr. Young was in private practice. During his post-medical school training, Dr. Young served as chief resident of orthopedic surgery at Beth Israel Hospital and a teaching fellow in orthopedics at Harvard Medical School. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Young has a comprehensive approach to patient care. He tailors each patient’s treatment plan to their diagnosis and associated medical conditions. He also spends time educating his patients and works with them to develop successful treatment plans.
