About this business
Raj Singh, M.D., is a board-certified radiation oncologist at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He specializes in treating patients with central nervous system cancers, including primary and metastatic cancers involving the brain or spine, head and neck cancers, and thoracic malignancies such as lung cancer. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Singh was an assistant professor of radiation oncology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and a radiation oncologist at The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. After graduating cum laude from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Dr. Singh earned his medical degree at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. He completed his transitional year internship at Mather Hospital, part of Northwell Health, in Port Jefferson, New York and his radiation oncology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center in Richmond, Virginia, where he served as chief resident during his final year. Much of Dr. Singh’s research has focused on stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for brain metastases and stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) for metastatic disease outside of the brain. He has a particular interest in determining the specific patient populations that may benefit the most from aggressive local therapy based on the original cancer type and other patient and tumor characteristics. Dr. Singh has published on the utility of SABR in early-stage small-cell lung cancer and on SRS for non-malignant conditions, such as dural arteriovenous fistulas, vestibular schwannomas, cavernous malformations and trigeminal neuralgia, among others. In addition, he has assessed the potential benefit of more aggressive radiation therapy approaches for glioblastoma and meningiomas and optimal treatment approaches for oropharyngeal cancers. Dr. Singh has published his research in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at multiple national conferences. In addition to his clinical and research work, he has been involved in the education and mentorship of resident physicians, fellows and medical students. He also contributes to the scientific community as a member of several professional organizations and reviewer for numerous high-impact medical journals. Dr. Singh prioritizes patient education and aims to ensure that his patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options and follow-up plans so they feel confident in their care and empowered to make decisions based on their personal value system. He also strives to address his patients’ concerns and any potential obstacles to accessing medical treatment. During his free time, Dr. Singh enjoys spending time at the beach, hiking and playing tennis and video games.
