Leyla Fowe Makue, MD

Dr. Leyla Makue earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida and received her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Cincinnati. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University and went on to serve for one year as a hospitalist with Piedmont Healthcare, caring for patients in the Rockdale County, Georgia community. She later completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Florida’s academic health center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, with additional certifications in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Makue has been practicing medicine for over 10 years. Dr. Makue specializes in general cardiology. Her special interests include women's heart health and preventative cardiology. She treats conditions such as coronary artery disease, chronic high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, among other conditions. In her spare time, Dr. Makue enjoys hiking, biking and spending time with family. Dr. Makue is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
