Jonathan V. Dunn, PC

Jonathan V. Dunn opened the firm of Jonathan V. Dunn, P.C. in 2018 after building a practice in the areas of family law and criminal defense for several years in Savannah.

Mr. Dunn has a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude from Mercer University, and earned his J.D. at the University of Georgia Law School, where he participated in several trial externships and served with the Athens-Clarke County Legal Aid & Defender Clinic.

Admitted to practice in the State of Georgia in 2002, Mr. Dunn serves on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia’s Family Law Section, and he is a member of the Savannah Bar Association. He has been in engaged in private practice in the areas of family law and criminal defense for over a decade, served five years as an Assistant District Attorney with the Eastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, and spent the first two years following his graduation from Georgia Law with a Lawrenceville firm practicing in education law, worker’s compensation, liability defense and family law. Prior to embarking on a career in the legal profession, Mr. Dunn was privileged to serve as a high school English teacher and Wrestling coach at Landmark Christian School in Fairburn, Georgia, where he was named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.

Mr. Dunn also has significant appellate experience. His reported cases include the following: King v. State, 290 Ga.App. 118, 658 S.E.2d 883 (2008); Froehlich v. Froehlich, 297 Ga. 551, 775 S.E.2d 534 (2015); Bowman v. Bowman, 811 S.E.2d 103 (Ga. Ct. App. 2018). In the area of scholarship, Mr. Dunn has recently published and spoken on select family law topics, including “Unanswered Legal and Ethical Questions in Family Law” and “Recent Developments in Family Law.”

Mr. Dunn devotes his spare time to volunteer opportunities at Benedictine Military School, Hancock Day School, Jenkins Athletic Club and the YMCA.
