THE MIDDLE (for men)

On this channel, hosts Gary Eelman and John Beradino look at complex issues through the perspective of men. They will be discussing relationship dynamics, men's health, critical thinking and much more. They will have expert guests on and some who just need to tell a story that is unique to the male experience in some way. John is a PhD, and clinical psychologist with years of practice working with veterans and in his private practice who will be weighing in on many of Gary's life experiences from his lowest levels in industry to high level executive positions that span an over 50 year career. Both John and Gary blend an interesting brew of passionate opinions and dynamics and are never lost for words as they play off of their different experiences and clinical observations. They will endeavor to chase down some interesting rabbit holes by opening up topics not frequently discussed and debated among men. The program is intended to help those in the middle through to the end of their careers who sometimes need to quiet their anxiety and/or depression and to for the program to cast light upon the dark paths that may lead the way for those who are unable to open up about their emotions and express their fears and uncertainties about where they are and what may be waiting ahead. Planning what we do towards the end of our lives from "The Middle" is often something men forget about until they're closer to the end. Often because of this, a crisis ensues.

The aim is to curb this dynamic as much as possible armed with data and critical thinking, so that the surprises are less and expectations are more in line with reality. The objective is to avoid the sudden onset of panic and be able to have a more holistic view of our lives instead of the oft mentioned "mid-life" crisis when a man suddenly asks "where the hell am I and where am I going?" John and Gary posit that men, as well as all humans, are thinking, feeling people and not what society has forced them to be as thoughtless warriors taught to suck it up and slay the world. John's experience with veterans highlights this notion in the most profound of ways while Gary's experience with executives tangled in a search for the meaning of a fast passing life makes for some deep and thought-provoking viewing /listening. Both hosts will give counsel where they are qualified to do so, making the program something that has the potential to help change a trajectory and improve one's life. Adding value is the key. The videocast and podcast version both welcome comments, constructive criticism and opposing points of view from guests and the audience all with the goal of helping men find meaning in the their relationships with others, secure a plan for good physical and mental health as they age, and pursue gratifying purposes in life and love until the last moment.
