Madhavi P Rao, MD

Dr. Rao earned her medical degree from Osmania Medical School in Hyderabad, India. She completed her internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and her residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association.

Dr. Rao has worked in primary care for more than 25 years, focusing on the prevention and management of chronic medical conditions. Her areas of expertise include hypertension, diabetes and obesity management, with special emphasis on lifestyle factors such as nutrition, exercise and stress reduction. She considers herself a partner in each patient’s healthcare journey, developing long-term relationships built on trust and collaboration.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Rao prioritizes spending time with family. She enjoys gardening and reading, and has recently developed an interest in learning Mahjong, tennis and yoga. Dr. Rao is fluent in Hindi, Telugu and English.
