The Scene
Older Cambridge coeds and young professionals head below street level to commune over filling, inexpensive rice dishes and bowls of noodle soup. Soft lighting and dutiful service add a slightly sophisticated air, as… Read Full Editorial

this place totally blows by das1 via Citysearch on 12/20/2009
having been dragged there a dozen or so times, I feel as though I am something of an expert on 9 tastes, and concluded probably halfway through my 9 tastes journey, that it is really and truly awful. pad thai is okay and cheap (i'll give…
best thai in Boston by C. T via Insider Pages on 4/21/2009
This is my favorite thai place in the Boston area. The restaurant itself is small and feels a bit cramped, and you'll probably have to wait for a table, but it's worth it. Their food is spectacular. I recommend going with some friends…
Good food, but I hope you like eating in a basment by TheReviewa via Citysearch on 10/18/2008
Tthe Thai at 9 tastes is quite good. The menu is extensive and they offer a bento box type meal for deal-seekers. I would recommend the duck or the spicy basil chicken (off menu item) for entrees and pastry puffs as an app. Prices are…

Great Thai, even our au-pair from thailand approved.
Great place by D K via Insider Pages on 1/30/2008
Normally, I don't care much for Thai food, but this place is an exception. Good service, great price, nice atmosphere. As I mentioned, food is much better than most Thai places I'm used to

Not as good as I hoped! by matinaleung via Citysearch on 7/25/2007
I went with a girlfriend of mine for dinner. The place itself was nice and cozy. But the overall experience was not as good as I hoped. The water tasted very funny. I think because they put lemon in the water but it tasted like detergent…
Great, inexpensive Thai food. by hlsgirl via Citysearch on 11/20/2006
I love this restaurant--I go there at least a couple times a month. The lunch specials are an especially good deal--soup, appetizer, and entree for less than $8. My favorites are the pad thai and the green curry.
Very Good! by nataliaking via Citysearch on 9/21/2005
I went here for my birthday and truly enjoyed the food! We made reservations, and arrived to find everything set up very nicely. The service was great, and the food tasted wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place! It looks a…

Amazing Thai Food! by Peggy B. via Judy's Book on 9/2/2005
My favorite dish here is the Basil Crispy Chicken. It is amazing. The food here is delicious and the ambiance is very private and cozy. I would highly recommend this place for a "night out" type of feel. The staff is very warm and…
great thai food by molster via Citysearch on 6/10/2005
I order take out from 9 tastes all the time and love their dishes. The food is always delivered quickly, the service is friendly and their prices are reasonable. I spent 6 months in Thailand 3 years ago and their food is better than most…
Absolutely Overrated by pochi112 via Citysearch on 2/12/2005
It is absolutely overrated. I was deceived by the crowd. It is the worst thai food that I had. I had the basil cripsy chicken. The chicken is greasy, oil soaked and seems to be Re-Fried (recooked leftover food). The drunken noodle is not…
thai so good by redsoxforever via Citysearch on 12/30/2004
A wonderful find - if not for Citysearch & the rave reviews, would have never found this place. Small & cozy ambiance, the food is delicioso! Everything we tried we loved. & you can not beat their prices. Even tho I felt very old with…

I do not agree with the rating! by piyawat via Citysearch on 7/6/2004
I have been their last week, waited 5-10 minutes to be seated. I saw a lot of empty tables, but no waiter. I ordered beef satay, it arrived just before I finished the main course.
BEST THAI FOOD by lucy78 via Citysearch on 6/7/2004
Hey now u guys can't miss this Thai restaurant, 9 Tastes. I luv their food, especially all spicy dishes like tom yum, pad ped. If u like veggie, they have all kinds and not spicy at all. I gotta go back there again. :-)
Highly suggested Thai place by reed42 via Citysearch on 6/3/2004
Have you guys been to 9 Tastes on JFK in Harvard Square yet? If you haven't, you should. The food there is exquisite, delicate and unique. For those who have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants, you might find this one very interesting…
