Sidney Olefson, MD

Dr. Sidney Olefson is a Board-certified specialist in Gastroenterology. Dr Olefson is a graduate of Albany Medical College. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Brown University and his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Connecticut. Dr Olefson is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Americal Gastroenterological Association. He has published several journal articles and presented at national meetings and conferences.

Dr. Olefson sees patient with all types of gastrointestinal conditions, with a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, hemorrhoids, small bowel disease (and capsule endoscopy), gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), Barret's espohagus, colon cancer, and chronic liver disease. He sees patients in the Gastroenterology offices on Prima CARE's main campus, performs endoscopic procedures in the Prima CARE Endoscopy Suite, and sees hospitalized patients in consultation at Saint Anne's and Charlton Memorial Hospitals in Fall River.
