In 1923, DeWolf Thompson wondered if people might pay to spend the night at his sheep farm with the spectacular views of Chilmark’s fishing port and Vineyard Sound. He was right. Families have been booking “same time next year” for one hundred years.
Today Menemsha Inn & Cottages remains a woring farm and a full service Martha’s Vineyard Hotel and the treasured base camp for families to soak in thr magic of up island life. Lucy Vincent Beach, Larsons Fish Market, kayaking the Pond, and the sun setting into Vineyard Sound.
