Dr. Yolanda Ho DDS

Dr. Yolanda Ho DDS is a dedicated periodontist & Dental Implant Specialist at Newton Dentistry, known for her lifelong commitment to learning and growth across clinical care, research, education, and leadership. Coming from a family of educators, she embraces the belief that “the more we know, the more questions we ask”—a mindset that drives her passion for patient education and its essential role in long-term oral health.

Her personal experience growing up without access to dental care—and managing dental anxiety—gives her a unique sense of empathy. Dr. Ho builds strong partnerships with her patients, helping them take control of their oral health while ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.

Dr. Ho’s pursuit of excellence is evident in her leadership and academic achievements. She served as class president at UCSF, chief resident at Tufts, and currently holds the role of President-Elect of the Washington County Dental Society in Oregon. Her research has earned recognition both nationally and internationally, including second place in the IADR Sarnat Craniofacial Biology Award and first place at Tufts’ Interdepartmental Research Day for her work on silver diamine fluoride and periodontal pathogens.

Clinically, Dr. Ho is proficient in advanced procedures such as bone and soft tissue grafting, implant placement, ridge and sinus augmentation, osseous surgery, and guided tissue regeneration. Her work has earned her the Portland Top Dentist Award. She frequently uses clinical photography to enhance diagnosis and improve treatment planning.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ho teaches at Tufts School of Dental Medicine, where she finds fulfillment mentoring students and residents. Through her ongoing dedication to dental education and patient-centered care, she strives to improve outcomes—and never misses a chance to share a smile with her patients.
