Our program utilizes the traditional Montessori Method of teaching, which is a child centered education style. The Montessori style of education was developed by Italian physician and educator, Dr. Maria Montessori over 100 years ago. The Montessori educational approach is characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural psychological, physical, and social development. The Montessori Method teaches the child sequentially through hands-on concrete materials, using all five senses. We present the children with a complete Montessori environment, fully equipped with Montessori materials. CELC is owned and operated by an American Montessori Society (AMS) Primary certified Montessori teacher.
