In Short
Stucco walls, ornate iron trellises, and a fountain give it a courtyard feel. Semi-private cubbies with big, round tables are coveted spots for families and groups of friends. The menu has the usual suspects--tacos,… Read Full Editorial
Ol mexico my favorite restaurant by tuxunder via Citysearch on 11/12/2010
My fiance and I Love this place, it has the best Mexican food in the twin cities and it is reasonably priced. You have the freedom to create your own combination or order one of their suggested menu items. I usually have a chimichanga…
Great Food, Price, Service and a Great Place to Have a Party by TiffanyMN via Citysearch on 4/19/2010
I have been to Ol' Mexico several times for both family dining and Happy Hour. Most recently I hosted a baby shower there and can I just say it was outstanding!\r
One of the only restaurants that doesn't have a minimum purchase requirement…
Great Mexican food -With a great atmosphere too! by Teka 4 via Citysearch on 2/20/2010
The food was a great experience- Love the maragritas and the bartenders don't skimp on the alcohol like lots of other places. The servers earn their tips ( unless you're a cheapskate DS and don't leave one) I'd love to work there just for…
great food but pricey by Emily B via Insider Pages on 2/20/2010
The food is really good but the prices are a bit high. Depending on when you go, it is quiet or REALLY busy, especially near the bar area during a game. Chips and salsa are yummy and we usually get the fajitas!
Mediocre food, weak drinks, worse service by simulacrum25 via Citysearch on 11/5/2009
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants years ago, but the last two times I've gone the food has been mediocre, and recently my friend and I both commented that their margaritas were weak. A disappointment considering it has such…

Woudn't go back at gunpoint! by tlyberg via Citysearch on 8/14/2009
Ok, when we arrived, the place was hopping. The hostess greeted us warmly and on our way to the table, said "You're in luck, the Mariachi band is just starting!" \r
Who doesn't love Mariachi? We were happily seated near the wedding…
Ol' Mexico by Hillary C via Insider Pages on 10/12/2008
Never a long wait. Food is AUTHENTIC. My favorite is steak fajita pocket taco enchilada style. The chips and salsa before the meal are phenomenal (because their home made) Quick service, a little more expensive, but still affordable. You…
Great Food, Better Staff by twopointslow via Citysearch on 8/7/2008
I had read some reviews on sites like this one that had mixed opinions about the food taste and wait staff attentiveness, but being as we were in the mood for mexican food, we decided to try for ourselves.\r

Mediocre food, waiter disappeared by OperDZ via Citysearch on 7/27/2008
Tried it 3 times. Bland food. Margaritas are huge to hid fact they are weak. Last time I specifically mentioned we were in a hurry, ordered immediately, got food, and we never saw our waiter again. I had to walk around to find someone to…
Great Service, Great Mexican Food, Tons of Seating by kretz330 via Citysearch on 2/25/2008
If you're looking for a casual dining experience with excellent food, this is the place. The food was some of the best Mexican food I've had in quite a while. We went on a Friday Night and didn't have to wait to be seated due in large…
Great food and great service by rauv via Citysearch on 1/11/2008
We've been frequenting Ol' Mexico for years, and the hot salsa and margaritas are wonderful! Service has always been great. Management is kind of full of themselves, but the food is always hot, drinks are always cold, and we always go…
Worst example of Mexican food by djgal via Citysearch on 11/25/2007
I used to live in the Roseville area for many years and always enjoyed the food at Ol Mexico immensly. We moved out of the area a few years ago but this weekend we were back visiting friends and decided to go to Ol Mexico for dinner. What…
horrible food by rezinald via Citysearch on 10/13/2007
The drinks at Ol Mexico were very good, but that is where it ends. This place was quite possibly the worst meal I have ever eaten. 1st-the guacamole had a brown tint, which indicates that it was sitting out. We attempted to get past the…
Poor treatment from management by mnfoodcritic via Citysearch on 6/29/2007
I grew up in the Roseville area and have visited this restaurant for over 20 years. The prices have increased dramatically over time, but I always returned for the convenient location and halfway decent food. \r

Best Happy Hour anywhere! by 70sasha via Citysearch on 4/5/2007
Cheap large beers, lots of free food. Service is good. Great place for afterwork, with a few co-workers or friends.
Virgin margaritas, whether you want one or not by trp2 via Citysearch on 7/12/2006
I stopped in on a hot Saturday afternoon to have a margarita. After ordering a tall regular blended margarita, I sat back to enjoy. Having only 15-20 minutes to spare, the tall probably wasn't the smartest choice. But being the trooper I…
Booted Out by jwerner651 via Citysearch on 5/9/2006
I would agree that Ol' Mexico has a wonderful ambiance, but guest service is low on their priority. Children are unwelcome both to the buffet and to make a mess at the table. The so-called owner of the place and his family are…
Nice decor, bad food by picasso55 via Citysearch on 3/20/2006
I think that the salsa and the queso dip were both purchased at a grocery store. The food was way below par. The ambience and drinks were both good but that is all I can recommend it for.
