Equine Medical Associates is an equine veterinary service that has been seeing horses in the St Louis area for over 40 years. Founded by Dr Thomas G Loafmann in 1973, EMA has expanded over the years to offer an extensive ambulatory service, seeing horses within a 60 mile radius of St Louis in both Missouri and Illinois. Our hospital is located in beautiful Wildwood, Missouri and features hospitalization and surgical facilities and is available for haul-in visits as well. We also offer a satellite clinic in Troy, Illinois for haul-in appointments for our Illinois patients. We also offer various monthly clinics where you can haul-in and have services such as vaccinations and de-worming performed at reduced and no farm call charge - please contact our office for more information on these clinics! Some of our featured services includes portable radiography and ultrasound that can be performed right at the farm, and we offer a vast array of diagnostics that include blood, manure, urine, and tissue analysis as well as hormone assays, and much more. Our pharmacy is well stocked with most of the medications commonly used in horses, and we can easily get what we don't carry - feel free to ask! Our emergency services, both haul-in and farm calls, are available on a 24/7 basis including Holidays and Weekends. Our preventative medicine programs is balanced and comprehensive covering and features high quality equine dentistry, thorough vaccinations covering your needs unique to the region, and parasite control.
