The bank was founded in 1902 as Bank of Quitman. In 1981, the name was changed to Great Southern National Bank. In 1996, Great Southern National Bank incorporated all of its branches under one name and established Quitman Management Company as its holding company. The main office is located in Meridian, Miss.
