Sally D. Wood, MD, MPH

Before I started medical school, I loved hospitals, was curious about science and wanted to help people. After completing my training, I still love being a doctor for all of those reasons but have found that my relationships with my patients, their families and my colleagues are the most rewarding part of working. I enjoy getting to know my patients”either learning about their favorite colors, their families, their dogs or their hobbies”and think this helps me take better care of them. When I am not working, I enjoy playing outside with my kids and husband and taking walks with my family (including the dogs). We are also Tarheel fans and enjoy cheering at Tarheel sporting events (and especially listening to the marching band!).
