Heather N. Tarantino, MD

My passion for clinical care is fueled by a genuine interest in and respect for individuals from various backgrounds and life journeys. As a West Virginia native who has practiced medicine in West Virginia, Baltimore and Charlotte, I bring over 20 years of clinical experience in caring for individuals from rural to urban communities. My desire is to engage every patient with kindness and respect while focusing on patient objectives, preventive medicine, the societal and environmental factors influencing health, and the promotion of health through education. I moved to UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine to continue providing the highest-level care for patients while influencing and shaping the lives of future physicians. Outside of medicine, my joy comes from my faith, family, friends and serving my community.
