Becoming a nurse practitioner was important to me after seeing all the impact advanced practice providers (APPs) had on my father’s cancer journey. I wanted to do more for patients after being a bedside nurse. I enjoy gathering data, interpreting it, and developing a treatment plan with the patient. Knowing and respecting the patient’s care goals is most important in my patient care. Cancer treatment is not just about the drug and the result, but what the patient feels they want and need. They should feel heard and respected when they come to see us. Outside of work, I like to spend time with my family, take long walks with my husband, children, and two dogs. I also love to make macarons in my spare time.
