In Short
This eatery walks the line between being a kid-friendly family joint and a nice Mexican restaurant. It's decorated like a street scene from a Clint Eastwood western, complete with a strolling mariachi band, straw-hatted… Read Full Editorial

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Triangle, and believe we have tried them all. While the menu is smaller then most, the food is significantly better. They know what they do well and they stick to it. The food is authentic, the drinks…

3 of 4 stars (good, casual dining). by NC_Chevalier via Menuism on 8/18/2013

(see explanation of ratings below) Funky, cluttered, dark interior. Patio may be a better choice to sit...

I love this place and it's where I choose to take my kids (teens) for special occasions when I want to have fun! They don't take reservations, but you can have one of their fabulous margaritas while you wait!

We ate there tonight and it was great! Portions are smallish for the price but I am counting calories so I was thankful. I will certainly go back there.

Ok, Just ok, Not bad, not good

Are you kidding me? by jusayin via Citysearch on 3/17/2012

Not able to rate this place. Tried to go for lunch today. After the "hostess" finally told the other end of the phone to hold a sec she had ANOTHER customer, we were sat in what felt like a dark hole and left there to wonder. After 10 or…

Not a single propitious moment! by crunkdaddytaco via Citysearch on 2/4/2012

Not a single propitious moment! To say they fell short is generous… they forgot their shoes at home. I created this account with the sole purpose of leaving a negative review. My true Mexican dining connoisseurs (one with negative…

Terrible service, Decent food, Overpriced by panda911 via Citysearch on 4/12/2011

I went to Dos Taquitos on Creedmoor Road for the first time. I was pretty excited, because they way I've heard people talk about it, it seemed like it should be a pretty amazing place. I should have known customer service would be lax at…

Great Atmosphere, Not so Great Customer Service by rojo2412 via Citysearch on 11/10/2010

I have eaten at this restaurant 2 times and I have to admit that I will not be going back. The atmosphere is amazing, especially at night - very fun, stimulating and enjoyable - BUT, I felt that the food was not worth the price. \r \r I…

Dos Toquitos Centro! by designo5 via Citysearch on 10/4/2010

Great food, fabulous atmosphere, friendly service and L O V E the Mariachi Band serenade while eating 7 moles!( I find it slightly irritating that people tend to review mostly after a bad experience. But rarely when it's great!) This place…

I met some girlfriends for a much needed night out. We were seated outside, and I was glad b/c it was SSSSOOOO dark, I wouldn't have wanted to be indoors. We arrived at 7:00, and it was AT LEAST 8:15 before we EVER saw our food (on a…

If only I could give LESS than one star.... by emcook via Citysearch on 5/28/2010

*Food-mediocre at BEST (I've had better at Taco Bell) and WAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced--$50 for 2 chicken chimichangas, 2 margaritas and a beer. Wow. Really? I wanted to throw it up so I could return it and get my money back. *Service--slow…

Not a good experience by 5432 via Citysearch on 2/21/2010

Definitely NOT worth the 40 mins we waited to be seated (after being told when we called from the car there was no wait....we arrived 8 mins later). Then after we were seated, we waited another 45 mins for our food to arrive.....not cool…

Great atmosphere, terrible food by avanidancer via Citysearch on 2/7/2010

My husband and I just moved here from Asheville. Wanted to find a good Mexican spot. I read the good reviews and we wanted to try it out. It's very unique and has a cozy and romantic atmosphere. We loved the lighting and the train. The…

Amazing food and atmosphere. by DustyLee via Citysearch on 1/23/2010

I've been going to Dos Taquitos for years now and have turned many friends onto it. The food always tastes amazing and fresh (because it is). Don't listen to the haters on here who seem to have personal issues with the place. \r \r The…

Bad Food, nothing special by JGG via Citysearch on 9/25/2009

I went with my wife to DT expecting real mexican cousin, but we found a better served taco bell kind food, poor quality, small amounts, bad taste, NOT MEXICAN, real enchiladas are VERY different. Never visit again

Great Food, Great Margarita's by David B via Citysearch on 9/5/2009

We went to this restaurant and was completely blown away by it!!.. Once you step inside you forget you are in Raleigh, I dont know how they come up with the decor but it is very cool.. We did have to wait for our table but I guess that…

One of the best restaurants in Raleigh!!! by Mapis via Citysearch on 9/2/2009

Of all of the Mexican restaurants in town, Dos Taquitos is certainly the finest. From the outside, the appearance can be deceiving. The restaurant is located in a rather bland, non-descript strip mall. However, once I stepped foot inside,…

The worst: no value (small amounts of bad food) by dannybartlett via Citysearch on 8/30/2009

Wow!!! is this place over-rated!! It is a mystery to me why folks patronize this place, or, worse yet, to claim it is a good mex restaurant. First of all, it is mexican only by the names of food on their menu (enchilada; quesadilla,…
