Karina Mashburn, FNP

I have always been a caring and nurturing person; that made medicine the perfect career for me. After spending time as a registered nurse, I went back to school to become a family nurse practitioner (FNP) so I could touch the lives of others in positive ways. As an FNP, I am fortunate to be able to care for people across the lifespan. I especially enjoy caring for whole families as they grow older. \n My approach to healthcare is patient-centered and based on scientific evidence. I want to help people live the healthiest life possible. This means preventing illness when we can and using appropriate screenings to catch concerns early. For patients living with chronic conditions, I want to help them control those illnesses, minimizing symptoms and complications whenever possible. \n I met my husband while we were in college, and together we have a dog and a cat. I am one of six siblings, and I love spending time with my big family! When I am not working or spending time with family and friends, I love going to the gym or the beach, hiking, reading, board games and crafting.
