Sean Thomas McGinley, MD

Sean T. McGinley, MD received his undergraduate degree from The University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude and serving as team captain of the varsity cross country and track teams, while also attaining Academic All-Ivy and Dean’s List honors. He then earned his medical degree from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, where he was honored to join the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society after being deemed a leader in his class academically and clinically. Dr. McGinley completed residency in Urology/Genitourinary Surgery at University at Buffalo in New York, where he served as the academic and administrative chief resident and was awarded the 2019 Louis A. and Ruth Siegel Resident Teaching Award for his commitment to educating medical students. During this time, he was also published in numerous journals and presented his research locally, regionally, and internationally.
Dr. McGinley is board certified by the American Board of Urology and belongs to several medical societies, including the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, the Northeastern Section of the American Urological Association, Endourological Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. McGinley cares for patients facing a variety of urologic issues, although he has a particular interest and proficiency in complex kidney stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia, including percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), Aquablation, REZUM, and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP). He is always seeking the newest and most innovative treatments available, in order to offer his patients the state of the art in care as well as the best experience in their therapy. He offers a wide range of minimally invasive approaches for his patients, both in the office and operating room, and he endeavors to maintain compassion while prioritizing education to empower his patients in their own care as well. He also emphasizes the importance of lifestyle changes and medical management to avoid unnecessary surgeries whenever possible.
