Susan Simon

Susan C. Simon, MD, specializes in internal medicine, including disease prevention, comprehensive physical examinations, and coordinating health care services.<br />

Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Simon was Partner and Associate in Medicine at Middlesex Medical Group in Edison, New Jersey. She also has been a consulting physician with Healthstat Corporation in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a staff physician at Harvard University Health Services and New England Baptist Hospital, both in Boston, Massachusetts.<br />

A gifted teacher, Dr. Simon was Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She also has taught in the JFK Family Practice Residency Program and at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). Dr. Simon has been an invited lecturer at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center. While she was Chief Resident at Harvard Medical School, she directed monthly medical management rounds and taught at daily work rounds and chief rounds.<br />

"I believe it is important to have a thorough understanding of the entire patient for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment," says Dr. Simon. Because I find teaching and learning deeply gratifying, a career in internal medicine was natural for me. It has given me the opportunity to learn about and have in-depth knowledge about every body system while helping educate my patients so that they can partner with me in maintaining and improving their health."<br />

Dr. Simon is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, Massachusetts Medical Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.<br />

Dr. Simon is the recipient of more than eight honors and awards, including the Central College Pearl Roberston Science scholarship, Central College Senior Biology Award, Boston University School of Medicine Fairy P. Brown Scholarship, Boston University School of Medicine Samuel Wexler Scholarship, and Deaconess Hospital James L. Tullis, MD, Resident Achievement Award. She is a member of Alpha Zeta Mu Academic Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Simon has earned the Justakanurse.com nurse recommendation for excellence, the MDx Medical, Inc, Patients' Choice Award, and the MDx Medical, Inc, Most Compassionate Doctor Award for her outstanding bedside manner, courtesy of her office staff for appropriate follow-up care and overall excellence. When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Simon enjoys gardening, landscaping, growing vegetables, and cooking. She and her family are enthusiastic about the outdoors and enjoy skiing, hiking, fishing, and being at the beach together. "In addition," says Dr. Simon, "I enjoy yoga, the challenge of a good game of poker, and walks with my dog and friends on weekends!"
