Benjamin S Silver, MD

Dr. Benjamin Silver is a Gastroenterologist atNewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and an Assistant Professor ofMedicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. He specializes in the prevention,diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of digestive disorders, with aparticular focus on colon cancer prevention and chronic gastrointestinaldiseases.
Dr. Silver received his medical degree from St.George’s University School of Medicine and completed his residency in InternalMedicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he served as ChiefResident at Kings County Hospital Center. He went on to complete his fellowshipin Gastroenterology and Hepatology at SUNY Downstate, serving as Chief Fellowin his final year. He also holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Science fromthe University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
For over a decade, Dr. Silver has been dedicatedto caring for the Brooklyn community. He is committed to advancing healthequity, reducing healthcare disparities, and providing compassionate,patient-centered care. In addition to his clinical work, he is activelyinvolved in teaching and mentoring future physicians and contributes toresearch in both basic science and clinical gastroenterology.
Dr. Silver is a member of several professionalgastroenterology societies and regularly presents his research throughabstracts, case reports, and publications.
