Don't expect to be surprised by this clubby steakhouse---there are dozens of Ruth's Chris' across the country and they all serve the same menu. But don't knock a chain if it knows how to do things right. The dining room looks like a… Read Full Editorial
My Review by kathyn760628564 via Citysearch on 8/31/2012
We have dined at many Ruth's Chris Steak Houses - dined at the Portland facility recently - stick with the steak - ordered the Lobster - it was beyond the point of return - the smell stopped me from eating........ordered broccoli well done…
Having been to Morton's, Ringside and by supsonic3 via Citysearch on 2/14/2012
Having been to Morton's, Ringside and now here, I think Ruth's Chris on Broadway stacks up nicely. They don't validate parking, which is a shame, but they do have reasonably priced valet service.
We went for a celebration dinner and they…
Special Ocasion Place by Amanda M. via Judy's Book on 2/6/2012
Good Steaks and Service but you'll pay. We can only afford it as a special occasion place.
Expensive but good by tymons via Citysearch on 8/28/2011
Ruths Chris at 850 SW Broadway in Portland, OR - the new location - has a new feature on the menu. Past practice has been to offer everything a la carte. Now, the restaurant also offers a complete dinner for a specified price. The diner…
Horrible food and service! 3x a loser by Stephen Martinez via Citysearch on 1/11/2011
Go to the Benson or Ringside instead.
I dont know who is running the place but I had more fun watching these clowns try to cook a steak than watching the president spend tax payers money.
First, it was a special night; our anniversary.…
Go to Morton's instead by Ribeyeman via Citysearch on 9/20/2008
Ordered a ribeye medium rare and it came well done. Sent it back and then was afraid to eat it. Staff made me feel uncomfortable about sending it back, but hey for $40 I think they can cook it to the correct temperature.
Sophisticated American chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides. by Tara Lis via Citysearch on 8/7/2008
In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree…
Why when we have the Ringside? by pdxridgeback via Citysearch on 7/21/2008
It is evident this is a chain with restaurants in other cities. For a steakhouse try the Ringside ( a local excellent steakhouse) or the Portland's Steak and Chophouse. Unlike other great steakhouses in the city, Ruth Chris' menu items are…
Dont' waste your money here. by juicy82 via Citysearch on 7/19/2008
My boyfriend and I decided to try Ruths Chris tonight for the first time and were sadly disappointed. I looked on citysearch and like many places there were both good and bad reviews, but we decided to go for it in good faith anyway. The…
Great anniversary meal by terrybrown via Citysearch on 3/6/2008
Our reservation was at 5:30. We got there and they had rose petals one the table. Nice touch. We felt very welcome. We had the restaurant largely to ourselves for the first half of the meal. I recommend eating early if only to avoid…
over rated, or maybe just over priced?! by ruzena via Citysearch on 10/21/2007
Although I salute their abilities to serve an excellent steak, since when has $8 for plain, lukewarm, steamed brocoli been acceptable?! The Service was slightly noticable, but not a place for anyone who enjoys their water or a clear table.…
Excellent service! by hairstarrr via Citysearch on 7/29/2007
First of all, let me say I dine out all the time. Came here as a party of six, the service was excellent from beginning to end. The salads were great, app's nice, dessert awesome. The cheesecake was the best I have ever had, server's…
Good service, otherwise very overrated by asmodea via Citysearch on 4/12/2007
I felt compelled to review this place (it's my first posting) after hearing about Ruth's Chris and how fabulous it was. I'm very sorry to say I feel this restaurant is overrated and much too expensive for what you get. I'd like to…
NOTHING BETTER! by deltronmike via Citysearch on 4/3/2007
BIG STEAKS! BEST FLAVOR AND ATMOSPHERE. 4TH TIME, LOOKING FORWARD TO MY 5TH AND MY PORTERHOUSE! AND TO ALL THOSE COMPLAINERS, MAYBE YOU HAD A BAD TIME OR BAD SERVICE BECAUSE, NO ONE CAN PLEASE YOU! THANK YOU ALL AGAIN AND AGAIN!
Over Rated and Over Priced, PERIOD!!!!! by beggertdp via Citysearch on 1/20/2007
I personally wouldn't eat at a 'Ruth Chris' steak house again. Over rated and over priced. The steaks we ordered were dry and not tender at all. It's ridiculous that you pay 25$ smackers for a steak and then you have to purchase a baked…
BILLING ERRORS, BAIT AND SWITCH: BUYERS BEWARE!!! by winegeeky via Citysearch on 12/14/2006
Office party of 17 dined here last night for the 3rd year in a row. We ordered the $47 Argyle Sparkling wine (2 bottles), but were told they were out. As a substitute, they brought 2 bottles of Perrier Jouet ($41 from the wine list). BUT,…
Great stuffed chicken. by nicky7899 via Citysearch on 11/13/2006
I know it sounds funny I am writing about the great chicken for a steak place but I don't like steak. I took my mom here for Mother's Day and I had chicken since I don't like steak and thier stuffed chicken is so good I go back just for…
Ruth Chris gets it right by juniper420 via Citysearch on 7/5/2006
Even though this is a national chain restaurant, which tends to bring down the quality in a lot of places, Ruth Chris has not fallen prey to this. The steaks are always cooked to perfection, with cuts so tender you can almost cut them…
Always a great meal by mustknow via Citysearch on 5/9/2006
My husband and I go to this restaurant at least 4-5 times a month and have never had a bad meal however, if we did, the manager Mark would promptly take care of it. This is a restaurant that "get's it". We are always promptly greeted…
Overpriced, Bad Food, Horrid Service by perdumpf via Citysearch on 3/3/2006
I was on a business trip September 2005 for one night. I read the reviews on this page and thought "Sure, why not?". Big mistake. A colleague and I waited 45 minutes EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A RESERVATION, our steaks came out still alive and…
