Low Country Insurance Solutions was founded in 2004 by Forrest (Chip) Smith, a former US Marine and Desert Storm Combat Veteran.

Chip Smith began his insurance career in 1998 as a captive agent. After observing the limited ability to service clients in the captive arena, he found that becoming independent offered more flexibility among various carriers, with different market appetites. He could then locate the coverage needed for all situations rather than a specific target market.

Currently all preferred markets and agents target the newer and elite homes normally owned by a higher income class, thus making it difficult for the middle income class or blue collar market to obtain insurance coverage at an affordable rate.

Our mission is to fill that void with markets that are competitive within those classifications. Our business module not only provides the efficiency of purchasing insurance, we also maintain personal service in the fact that you have the security of dealing with personal agent and staff verses a 1-800-#.
