Brian George Burnikel, MD

Dr. Burnikel has expertise in total hip replacement, partial and total knee replacement. His special interests include improving the patient centered experience and enhanced recovery after joint replacement surgery. He has served as the UMG Department of Orthopaedic Vice Chair of Quality, University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville Admission Committee member, Clemson Bioengineering Senior Design Team Advisor and Patewood Medical Care Committee Chairman. Some current administrative roles include Adult Reconstruction Division Chief and Medical Director for the Center for Joint Replacement at Patewood Memorial Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, South Carolina Orthopaedic Association and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. When not enhancing patients' lives through joint replacement he enjoys spending time with family, antique auto restoration, lake recreation and supporting Clemson Men's Soccer.
