These are the cornerstones of our company and the Dan Ryan Builders Story. Dan Ryan was born into a family of homebuilders. His grandfather was a homebuilder in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Later, his Uncle Ed founded Ryan Homes and his father, Jim, founded Ryland Homes. Having graduated from James Madison University, Dan worked in various capacities for both companies. In 1990, he founded Dan Ryan Builders in Mount Airy, Maryland. No stranger to hard work, Dan grew his business from just 1 home the first year to more than 15,000 homes built in competitive new homes markets along the East Coast.

Originally founded in Maryland, then moving into the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, Dan Ryan Builders now offers new construction homes in six states (Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina) and ten Metro markets. Today, Dan Ryan Builders is one of the country’s few privately owned, large regional homebuilders. We build townhomes, villas, duplexes, single family, and estate homes.
