The Z'Tejas Mexican Restaurants Story - In 1989, the first Z’Tejas was born in an old Victorian house on Austin’s historic 6th Street. Taking flavors from Spanish and Mexican cuisines and combining them with inspirations from Arizona, Louisiana, California, New Mexico and Texas, Z’Tejas created a rich blend of flavors that we’ve come to celebrate as Southwestern cuisine.
In 1991, Z’Tejas opened their second location in Scottsdale, Arizona and today has 8 restaurants in the Southwest United States.
As Z’Tejas celebrates 25 years of flavor, we invite you to come experience our signature cornbread, award-winning margaritas, and any number of our fresh, flavorful, and innovative dishes.

The food was great. The service was pretty good also. The food came out fairly quickly. This is a good restaurant to just eat and have a conversation.

Z Tejas by amanda t via Insider Pages on 4/29/2010

I'm not sure what is better, the brunch or dinner. Most girls like the breakfast quesadillas... so yummy! The brunch portions are pretty large and come with a muffin. All meals come with their delicious cornbread. The chile relleno is…

Nice view, good food by ohyeahlach via Citysearch on 1/2/2007

Went here in Octoiber for a special occasion, food was good. Only complaint was although the place was more thanb 1/2 empty, the food wasn't hot when it reached us. would go back though, even the cold food was good. Service average.

User review by scur2u by scur2u via Citysearch on 5/30/2006

Been there twice now. Food is solid, tasty, consistent so far. Service is very good & attentive. I suggest sitting outside for the nice view and it's not as noisy as the inside restaurant. The inside doesn't have an acoustic ceiling so…

Great after-work spot, enjoy the views by johnkelcy via Citysearch on 5/1/2006

Great margaritas, good food and lots of local talent. This is a must-stop after work. Lively crowd and a good menu. 6th street location is excellent as well, and offers better ambiance due to the arrangement of the restaurant.
