In Short
Stroll in and be seated immediately--feel like one of the family. At a maximum capacity of 75 seats, the layout is intimate and the atmosphere remains low-key, with adult contemporary music wafting in the background. The… Read Full Editorial
My Review by London via GrubHub on 6/7/2014
they claimed they never received my order and I never got my food and I was late for my job. I was pretty upset.
Great place except for Breakfast by cupcakesnlattes via Citysearch on 11/15/2011
We love this place for lunch and dinner. Food seems to be a little inconsistent but overall good value except for breakfast. We usually go to Kerby but it was crowded and remembered they serve breakfast. It was awful - sausage was fatty…
Watch out for "6 or more will include 20% gratuity added" by milohn via Citysearch on 9/24/2011
We have been dining at the Cypress Grill several times a month since the restaurant first opened. Usually great food, and great service - sometimes there are small problems but these are usually taken care of quickly and…

Yum! A lot of variety and not a chain!! by tanghorse23 via Citysearch on 5/15/2009
They have a wonderful variety - great cajun food, excellent catfish and a great weekend breakfast - and good desserts. Also a nice reward program, wonderful art, and most of the staff are pleasant and helpful!
Best Pancakes and Breakfasts by KevinBunny via Citysearch on 2/28/2009
Visiting my family in Austin, my grandaughter told me that there was a restaurant with, " the best pancakes in the world." Five of us went for breakfast and she was right. The breakfast was delicious, the pancakes were great and the…
Wonderful Surprise by gregmiller via Citysearch on 12/16/2008
So impressed with this place that I have finally been inspired to write a review. We've lived in this part of town for a couple of years and had pretty much accepted that there were no good restaurants unless we were in the mood for…
The Crawfish Linguine is excellant by ssuits via Citysearch on 11/16/2008
The rest of the menu is diverse and good. Great neighborhood hangout. Not a chain restaurant, great desserts.
The best!!! by austinbrownsfan via Citysearch on 9/19/2008
I love to call and order the catfish atchafalaya to go - it's ready when I arrive, and it's the best take-out dinner that I have had in Austin. So good!!!
One of our favorite places to eat by pwebb76 via Citysearch on 5/20/2008
We have been eating here for 5 years, since we moved to the area. It's one of our favorite places to go! The food is really really good. The service is always attentive. And the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place if…
One of my neighborhood favorites! by lizlovestoeat via Citysearch on 5/16/2008
Everything you'd expect from a slightly hole-in-the-wall-ish type cajun/creole restaurant. Oysters and shrimp taste fresh, whether served in an entree or fried for a poboy. Salads are refreshingly green - no boring iceberg here! The fried…
Disappointed by nawlinslady via Citysearch on 9/9/2007
I am a native New Orleanian and was very displeased with the meal my friend and I had today. Although the gumbo and catfish poboy tasted O.K., the gumbo was all rice and the poboy was tiny! I thought it was a rip off! Not like the…
Great food with a laid-back setting by igei via Citysearch on 7/1/2007
I highly recommend this place if you're looking for yummy food and drinks with a casual atmosphere. When we pulled up to the restaurant and realized that it was in a strip mall, I was a bit turned off. But, we went in anyways and were…
Great neighborhood restaurant by thun via Citysearch on 1/28/2007
My wife and I have been going here somewhat regularly since we moved to the neighborhood, and we keep coming back for more. I don't know enough about cajun cuisine to tell how traditional it is, but I can say for sure that it's darn…
Good food, understaffed by nightliferegular via Citysearch on 9/12/2006
I live on William Cannon, so I have eaten here several times. The food varies from good to very good. Although, if you walk in and it seems very busy, try again some other time. You won't be able to get out of there in anything less than 1…
Awesome casual spot with great food by chrismcc2003 via Citysearch on 9/7/2006
We found this place by meeting a friend there who recomended it and were very surprised. I was a bit skeptical when we pulled into a strip center but went in with an open mind. The menu has an interesting assortment of cajun style food…
what a surprise by swalsh152 via Citysearch on 1/5/2006
I live 1 mile away and drove past the place twice a day for a year..never went in. Curb appeal is lacking I guess.. I had dinner there the other week (6 of us) and I was impressed.. This place is cool. Good food and there was a band…
Great food and drinks! by sklo via Citysearch on 5/6/2005
This is a great place for a laid-back happy hour with friends. They have great mojitos, watermelon martinis and margaritas for cheap! The food is great and great service. When the weather is nice, there is a patio area.
Hidden Gem by Dnichols via Citysearch on 3/15/2003
I have eaten at this neighborhood restaurant on several occassions always trying something different. I have yet to be disappointed. Every dish has been excellent. The menu is full of cajun and creole items and dishes with homemade…
