Products and Services

DTF Transfers

Direct To Film Transfers are very similar to full color DTG - Direct To Garment Printing. The primary difference is that the DTF process for creating the full color ink transfers allows for prints to be heat applied on just about any material that can withstand the 30 seconds of heat at 320 degrees, whereas, full color DTG is best suited to cotton materials. DTF is the more durable, longer lasting of the two full color printing techniques but the DTG will have the softer hand feel that feels more like screen printing.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is the process of using screens for each color being applied in a design to create a stencil in the mesh that allows for ink for that particular color to penetrate through the mesh and in the areas of the design where needed. It involves a timely pre-production process to make and set-up all of the screens so it is typically for larger quantity orders around 12 to 24 shirts for one color prints and higher quantity minimums as you add in more printing colors and locations. We offer traditional plastisol inks, water-based inks, discharge inks and specialty inks to create the overall visual effect you desire for your finished t-shirts, hoodies and other apparel items.

DTG Direct To Garment Printing

DTG printing is a full color direct print to apparel with high cotton content like t-shirts, hoodies, and other apparel items. It requires the items to be pretreated with a special formula that makes the ink used stay on top of the fabric, unlike DTF that needs no pretreatment or has material fabric content constraints. Both DTG and DTF produce very high resolution photo quality prints at 600 to 1440 DPI so you retain every detail of the art file as long as the file is good quality.

Embroidery

Embroidery is the preferred decoration method for caps and polo shirts when it come to corporate branding. Embroidery uses thread to recreate a digital design of the logo and requires more time to produce when doing large scale projects as the embroidery time is based on stitch count. For optimal quality machines are typically run at 550 stitches per minute, even though the machines can embroidery around 1000-1250 stitches per minute. Faster is not better and you compromise quality when trying to pinch pennies in production. Our philosophy and preference is to run machines at half speed and give the best quality possible to insure your brand represents your company the way you intended. The most popular commercial machines are 6 head machines. Meaning that 6 garments can be done at the same time using the same file. This helps offset the labor and production time. If your logo is 11,000 stitches it will take about 20 minutes to do the embroidery after hooping before it goes to the finishing department for trimming and packaging, but that also means that the time it take to do is is about the same as 1 or 2 so expect pricing to be much higher when you only need a few pieces per design.

Puff or 3D Embroidery

Puff embroidery, also commonly referred to as 3D embroidery is an added production process of using a special digitized file that allows for more tolerance in the stitches to allow for foam to be used to create an elevated finish of the design. Because dense foam is used you really want to use bold thick and wide content for the best puff effect. Thin designs will not be as raised as thicker font designs, and not all designs will work for puff where there is a lot of detail in the puffed areas.

The cost for your print on demand needs will be based on the time we have to interact with your order. Typically you can get a full color printed shirt ranging from $10.50 for a white t-shirt with left chest full color logo to $17.50 for a premium dark shirt with full front print as long as the ordering is done online and remains automated. To order online go to www.apparel.mypromoplanet.com. Pick the shirt style you want and upload the design. Confirm that you have the rights to print the design. Then confirm the print is good quality print ready art. Once confirmed add to cart, and checkout. Then we handle the rest and send you notifications about shipping automatically. PLEASE NOTE: Our design tool has an image quality bar when you click on the design. Green is great quality and Red is poor quality. To get better quality shrink the design print size. It is telling you the design was not created for the print size you are requesting. However, some designs may show mid-bar orange and may print fairly decent, but optimal print quality should have files that are 300 DPI at the size to print. Make sure your boundary box for the design fits the outline of the design or you will be paying for dead pixel areas due to designs not being properly cropped.

Embroidery cost is based on the number of stitches in your design. The production time it take will vary greatly based on the size. Cost is calculated based on increments of 1000 stitches. Most places have a standard price based on volume for 5,000 stitch logos and add a fixed cost per additional 1,000 stitches. Volume dictates the starting point for that pricing. Embroidery with metallic threads increases cost as those thread spools are 3-5 times more expensive. Puff or 3D embroidery also increases pricing as it requires standard 5000 stitch logo to be modified to about 7500 stitches and uses foam creating additional production processes and finishing needs that add a minimum of $2.00 to each product. A standard 6,000 stitch logo on polos we provide is typically about $5.00 at 24 pieces. We only charge $20.00 per logo for left chest and caps to create your digitized thread file for in house use. If you need a copy of that file it is a tape charge of $45.00. Otherwise it is created below market value at $20.00 for internal use only. It is always best to have your embroidery person create the file for their machines so they can control the quality and can be held accountable for quality issues.

Our standard production is 7-10 business days after proof approval an payment. However, we have produced orders the same day in a few instances where other printers have dropped the ball and we have had projects take loner than 7-10 business days because the volume was very high or our valued customer had to make changes to art or sizes needed, etc. We strive to get every order done as quickly as we can without compromising quality and use automation in processing to streamline the numerous steps between order input and output so it minimizes time and cost for our customers.

Promotional products are produced by different factories who may offer hundreds of different products. These factories are part of the Promotional Products Industry and they do not sell direct to consumers or corporations. The rely on us and thousands of other distributors to work directly with you for your project needs. Production time will be based on seasonal demand, print technique, and product type. Typically promotional products on average take a minimum of 7-10 days for production after a 1-2 day proof approval and payment process. Then shipping from the factory location is 1-4 days based on location. We do have factories in our supplier network that offer free rush production or products that can be done in 1 to 5 days, but the product base is limited and pricing is typically higher than the factories that require a longer production time. Other promotional products can take 15 or more days to produce so it is always best to plan your event or company needs a month or more in advance. We get calls weekly about a competitor dropping the ball and they need products quickly. We have been able to make some magic happen but it does typically cost more to do that.

The best print method for your apparel needs will be based on the type of material you are printing, the number of colors being printed, and the quantity needed. If you need photo realistic printing the best print method is DTG for cotton material and DTF transfers can also be used on cotton, polyester, spandex, tri-blends, nylon or other synthetic materials. Pricing for both of these methods is higher due to the print process being done one shirt at a time and each shirt requiring several minutes for production. Screen printing is the best process when you are printing images that are not photo realistic and pricing is based on the number of colors as each color requires a screen and each screen requires about an hour of extra production time to create, set-up and reclaim. Screen printing is for higher volume orders using the exact same design at the exact same size. Minimum 12 piece for 1 color, 24 for 3 colors, and 48 for 4 color prints.

We do provide free estimates. For promotional products the pricing given on our site at www.MyPromoPlanet.com typically includes the product cost with a one color imprint at the specified quantity unless otherwise noted on each product description. Set-up costs and delivery from the factories is not included in that pricing. For apparel items that we print and embroider in house our primary website for those products is www.Apparel.MyPromoPlanet.com. Each product has a discounted price and when you select your preferred decorating method along with quantity needed the pricing is given instantly. It is an automated process so you can add your design to the product and checkout with payment and the order goes directly into the production queue.
