Omar Ismail, MD

Omar M. Ismail, MD, obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham in 2019. After completing an internship at the University of Alabama Medical Center, he relocated to Houston to complete his residency in 2023 at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He remained there to complete a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery in 2025 before joining Kelsey-Seybold in August 2025. As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Ismail treats diseases of the eye’s retina and vitreous, including diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, epiretinal membrane, and retinal detachment. He has a particular interest in helping patients with diabetic eye disease.
