Mama Capparelli Began More than One Tradition

 

As a child I used to pass by the original Capparellis on Nacogdoches at 410 on the way home from school. It's no longer there and in its place stands a Bill Miller's Restaurant. The year was 1972 and I was in the seventh grade. We were dirt-poor and my eyes trained on the "HELP WANTED" sign in the bottom right of the window by the entrance. I took a chance and applied for a job but I was only thirteen and too young.
Years passed, I grew up and joined the U.S. Air Force....

What Kind of Texas-based Restaurant Doesn't Serve Sweet Tea

 

Cheese burger was small but delicious but they don't have sweet tea. They need to take lessons from Bill Miller's! Upon inquiring where the company originated from, we were informed the company is based in Austin, Texas. They give away free dog bisquits but don't have sweet tea... SMH

Welcoming and Inviting

 

We really enjoyed our time spent at Hope Center Church this morning. The sermon was great, music was AWESOME, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Additionally, I might add the place smelled great, not musty like some, and the building was immaculate! The beautiful mirror in the foyer really caught my attention. I highly recommend a visit to this church. We will return week-after-week!

Great Food 24/7

 

I frequent Mama Margies 5-6 times each week on my return from cleaning offices and buildings. My order rarely changes because I have favorites. This morning, for example, I ordered my usual two bean and cheese chalupas, three a la carte enchiladas with extra onions and two carne guisada and cheese tacos. (I double-checked my spelling of guisada but a red line still appears). Back on topic...great food although a bit pricey. My only complaint is that they don't offer tortilla soup. Are y...

Not Overly Impressed

 

Last night I took three of my employees to eat at the Bourbon Street Seafood Kitchen. The atmosphere was inviting, noise level moderate and was not crowded. Using a QR Code on the table, we accessed the menu and then placed our order with Hector, our waiter. The food arrived quickly. To be fair everyone, except me, enjoyed their meal. I did enjoy the Clam Chowder but the Etoufee was a different story. The shrimp tasted like dirty dish water, and I do know what that tastes like. ..Long story...
