People that have written sub par reviews are crazy. This place is great! Traditional Mexican for sure. Atmosphere was great, service was good.\r \r Check them out if you are in the mood for Mexican!

Just ate at El Ranchero for the first time -- one of the best lunches I've had in a long time. I ate the tacos with grilled beef; my wife had the chicken enchiladas with mole; and we shared an order of the shrimp quesadillas. I was really…

took them 1 hour to deliver our food here at work and they did not bring the sodas we had ordered. we ordered 4 and they gave us a hassle to return our money. stating the driver had given us the sodas. never going to order from there again.

Mexican food at its finest by Victor A via Insider Pages on 2/23/2012

It took one year and one month to find a mexican restaurant that really served authentic, fresh and tasy food. It all began when we sat down and the waiter brought us the nachos and salsa sauce. The salsa sauce wasn't the watered down,…

My Review by Shelly via eat24hours.com on 3/30/2011

I ordered my food to be delivered to my office. It took them over an hour just to get me the food. I ordered it at 11:20am and it finally got to my office at 1:30PM. Poor Service! Will never order from them again.

My Review by Jonathan via eat24hours.com on 9/4/2010

I'd be rating thumbs down if the food wasn't superior, but that seems to be the only thing they have going for them. First of all, let it be known: delivery is NOT FREE. There are extra fees in addition to an automatic %18 gratuity…

My Review by Kim via eat24hours.com on 8/7/2010

How can you call the delivery free with an automatic 18% gratuity?

My Review by James via eat24hours.com on 8/5/2010

Food took an hour and 20 minutes to come and when it did it was soggy and cold. Tried calling the restaurant and they didn't answer. Even fresh it would be just mediocre tex-mex food.

My Review by Beth via eat24hours.com on 7/21/2010

I looked forward to seeing El Ranchero on the Eat24hours website, but am very disappointed. I can deal with the $20 minimum, but an automatic %18 gratuity for delivery? Sorry, no thanks!!

Interesting Mexican Restaurant by Krista Lundberg via Citysearch on 4/7/2010

After leaving El-Ranchero I am still undecided on my experience there. A few friends of mine suggested we stop by their $1 taco night. Moments before walking inside my friend leans over and says "We brought our own hot sauce because you…

My Review by Shaunna via GrubHub on 7/10/2008

The nachos and empanadas are still as tasty as I remember but that salsa was questionable. There was apparently some chemical reaction going on in the container because the lid repeatedly kept popping off. Even days later in the…

Small but Wonderful by Lara M via Insider Pages on 6/25/2008

I come from California where we are used to great Mexican and fresh Tex/Mex. When I heard from friends & neighbors about this small family owned restaurant I decided to further check written reviews about it before actually going there. To…

A good, solid ok Mex-American Cafe by Ziv B via Insider Pages on 11/3/2007

Servers are usually pretty friendly and skillful, location is a bit blah, the menu used to be pretty good, then kind of bad when it was sold, and is now pretty decent again. Tamales are pretty good, guacamole and chips thoroughly ok,…

Real Mexican Food by Grace D via Insider Pages on 10/22/2007

The best Mexican food in Virginia. We've tried other restaurants but this one stood out with its homey feeling and fresh salsa and crispy chips. We were a group of 8 people and each tried a different dish and we all agreed that El Ranchero…
