WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. The manager/director, Mitzi, is very unprofessional. She made rude comments about “who are these people and who let them in here” referring my to my family who was there to make arrangements for my grand father. The woman also refused to allow the immediate family to see him until the day of the service. She also made comments about the family needing to leave before she catches a law suit because majority of my family is elderly and has a hard time getting around. She should NOT be working with the public. The only reason we went through with the arrangements there is because that was my grand fathers wishes and he had already made some of the arrangements himself. The day of the funeral service, the woman walked up to my grieving mother who was trying to see her father one last time and told her “we need to move this along….”. She acted as if we were holding up the service but the service started at 2 and she was rushing the family along at 1:45. There was plenty of time and her comments were completely uncalled for and she was totally out of line. Working in this industry, you should be compassionate and empathetic with the family and I DID NOT see that. I saw a few bad reviews with responses like “sorry you had a bad experience but we have no record of you”….. they do realize people attending services can also leave reviews, right? It doesn’t make a person be any less credible than if they were the ones planning a service. Absolute train wreck of a business

Our family laid our grandfather to rest on 6/30/23. We made the HORRIBLE mistake by trusting Maberry Funeral home in Floyd, VA to treat our grieving family with respect, empathy, and professionalism during this difficult time. For me, the incident that broke the camels back was 10 minutes before the funeral began my aunt (daughter of the deceased) was saying her last goodbye to my grandpa and the funeral director, Mitzi Maberry Roberson, had the audacity to tell my aunt to hurry up, that she should have said her goodbye earlier, and she needs to go sit down. If I would not have seen and heard this with my own eyes and ears I would not believe that a funeral home manager/director would ever speak to a daughter who just lost her father, a paying client, or a human being is such a hateful way. This is just 1 of several disgusting interactions that my poor mother and aunts had to endure while trying to lay their father to rest. Please, please, please DO NOT use this funeral home!!!

Everything was presented beautifully and there were no hassles with the planning at Maberry Funeral Home. They were very straight forward and put us at ease. The veterans benefits gave my grandfather the service and burial that he deserved.

The staff was sure to make us a top priority at Maberry Funeral Home, or at least they made us feel that way. They walked us through the arrangements and found us a great florist. Everyone at Maberry treated us like family.

It's really wonderful that the attendants at the Maberry Funeral Home took the time to put themselves in my shoes while planning this service. They acted as if they were experiencing all of the emotions with us.
