Integral Natural Medicine in Bellevue, WA is the naturopathic medical practice of Dr. Shaun "Skye" LaChute. Dr. Skye views the mind, body and spirit as an integrated whole and believes the body and mind have an inherent nature to be in balance and healthy. Often, these become unsynchronized due to chronic stress or other exposures leading to disease. Dr. Skye aims to take a "wholistic" view of the individual person and look for the imbalance, whether physical or mental in origin. Dr. Skye integrates the best of western, natural, and complementary medicine to heal illness on many levels. Diseases are diagnosed with modern medical science and laboratory studies and managed using a variety of modalities including lifestyle counseling, nutrition, natural substances, botanical remedies, homeopathics, physical medicine, mind body medicine and biofeedback along with pharmaceuticals when appropriate. All methods employed are in service of the body’s innate wisdom to heal, also known as the Vis Medicatrix Naturae, a fundamental principle in naturopathic medicine. The focus is treating the "whole" person and the underlying dis-ease, not just the disease or symptoms.
Dr. Skye received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans and graduated from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington with a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine. She completed her clinical training at Bastyr Center for Natural Health with externships in complementary cancer and survivorship care, women's health, and primary care with emphasis in autoimmune conditions and gastrointestinal health. She also completed additional training in mind-body medicine and biofeedback and received advanced training in homeopathy from the New England School of Homeopathy.
Dr. Skye is a board certified naturopathic physician in the state of Washington. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She also serves as a part-time Adjunct Faculty member at Bastyr University in the School of Naturopathic Medicine and Department of Counseling and Health Psychology.
