I became a nurse because I wanted to put something good out into the world, and to be useful to the community. During the difficult times of my life, someone was there for me. I strive to be someone that others can rely on when they need help and support. I was inspired to become a mental health nurse practitioner after realizing many patients had untreated mental health issues, which can hinder proper medical care. I also saw a need to provide more mental health care for healthcare workers and first responders.
