Products and Services

Root Canal Therapy
A root canal is one of the most common endodontic procedures, performed over 14 million times a year. This simple, effective treatment can save your natural tooth and prevent the need for implants or bridges.
Infection or inflammation of the tooth pulp—often caused by decay, trauma, or cracks—can lead to sensitivity, pain, or swelling. A root canal removes the diseased pulp, cleans the canal, and seals it, often in just one visit with local anesthesia.
At Northshore Endodontics, we use advanced techniques and focus on patient comfort throughout your visit. Contact our Kenmore office to learn more or schedule an appointment for expert endodontic care.

Endodontic Retreatment
With proper care, teeth treated with endodontic procedures can last as long as natural teeth. However, some teeth may not heal properly or may develop pain months or even years later. In such cases, endodontic retreatment may be necessary.
Common reasons for retreatment include untreated or complex canals, delayed or faulty restorations, or new decay that leads to reinfection. Cracked or loose crowns and fillings can also expose the tooth to new bacteria.
During retreatment, the doctor reopens the tooth, removes old filling material, thoroughly cleans and reseals the canals, and places a new restoration. If a crown is needed, you’ll return to your dentist to complete the process and restore function.

Endodontic Surgery
While most teeth respond well to root canal treatment, some cases may require endodontic surgery to fully heal. Surgery is often recommended when non-surgical treatment isn't enough or to address issues like hidden canals, root fractures, or damage to surrounding bone that may not appear on X-rays.
The most common procedure is an apicoectomy, where a small incision is made to remove infected tissue and the tip of the tooth root. A special filling is placed to seal the end, and the area is sutured. Over time, the bone heals naturally and restores function.
Mild discomfort or swelling after surgery is normal. Pain relief will be recommended, and we’re here if you experience anything unusual. Contact our office if needed.

Cracked Teeth
Cracked teeth can cause pain when chewing, temperature sensitivity, or sharp pain when releasing bite pressure. Cracks can irritate the pulp and lead to infection if left untreated.
Common types include craze lines (harmless), fractured cusps (restored with a crown), and deeper cracks that may require a root canal. Severe cracks, like split teeth or vertical root fractures, may need surgery or extraction.
Early diagnosis and treatment are key. Contact Northshore Endodontics if you’re experiencing any symptoms. We’re here to help save your tooth and relieve pain.

Traumatic Injuries
Injuries can cause teeth to become dislodged or knocked out. If a tooth is pushed in or out of its socket, your dentist or endodontist may reposition and stabilize it. Root canal treatment may be needed, especially if the pulp becomes damaged or infected.
If a tooth is completely knocked out (avulsed), it's critical to act quickly. Keep the tooth moist (ideally in milk or back in the socket) and seek immediate care—timing and storage affect success.
For injured immature teeth in children, specialized procedures like apexogenesis, apexification, or pulp regeneration may help save and strengthen the developing tooth.

Advanced Technology
Our specialty practice is committed to excellence, using the latest state-of-the-art technology to enhance patient care. Dr. Elena combines advanced training with modern techniques to make root canal treatment more effective, comfortable, and predictable. These innovations allow for conservative yet thorough and biologically sound care tailored to each patient.
