Isheeka Edwards, MD

Dr. Edwards completed medical school at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica in 2008 before going on to complete an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Rutgers University/Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey in 2017.

Dr. Edwards was inspired to become a physician after watching a television show called "The Operation" when she was ten. "Watching real surgeries unfold on screen, I remember feeling amazed - not just by the science, but by the trust and care involved. That curiosity stayed with me and eventually led me to medicine," Dr. Edwards says.

Her patient care philosophy is built on trust, empathy and education. "I believe patients do best when they feel heard and understand their health," Dr. Edwards says. "My priority is to provide evidence-based care while having meaningful conversations with my patients."

Dr. Edwards is married with two children and they have an energetic poodle.
