Charter Estimating

Charter Estimating is an electrical estimating service owned and managed by Paul Akins and is located on the edge of the Ozark Mountains but serves the entire United States with electrical estimating and electrical estimator services.

Paul Akins formed Charter Estimating to provide freelance electrical estimating services and electrical estimator training. Charter Estimating services has obtained the highest level of peer review for services provided and is also a member of CERT (Consulting Estimators Round Table).

Paul has over 30 years of experience in the electrical industry. His first electrical job was as an electrician’s helper while working his way through college Through the years as he gained experience he rose through the ranks to become a journeyman, a job foreman, and then an electrical contractor before becoming a full time electrical engineer and estimator in 2001. Since 2001 Paul has also doubled as a project manager when needed.

As an estimator Paul has successfully been awarded many electrical projects ranging in value from a few thousand dollars to exceeding several million. He has experience estimating commercial, institutional, civil, industrial, and residential projects in both the private sector and government markets.

Paul has been certified on Maxwell Systems Electrical Estimation since 2001 and currently holds a Master Electrician Certificate for the State of Tennessee, Arkansas,MS Florida Missouri and Illinois. Paul attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO and has a degree in the field of Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.
