We had an extensive remodel done on our 1982 home. Mike, his family, and his crew were great, every step of the way. We had wanted to do some of the work ourselves to keep our costs down, and they let us work right alongside them and we paid only for what they did. Our result was splendid! We find our new layout to be not only functional but beautiful with our sleek, modern finishes. Even the business end of things was a good experience. I loved that the billing was all online, we could pay with our credit card, and the bills were all carefully itemized. Nothing was billed that hadn't been on the estimate.

I had my kitchen remodeled, along with leveling my living room floor to match rest of the house, new tile throughout the house and a wall removed. From beginning to end, the process was easier than I experienced with previous contractors. Everyone was on time, polite, and the house was clean at the end of the day. Mike was responsive to answering my questions which I appreciated. Everything was on time, except for one day delay which did not put the overall process behind schedule. I love the end project and would not have been able to design the floor plan, pick out the tile, countertops or cabinets without the help of Kristin. It was well worth the cost! I highly recommend Mike and staff to complete any remodel.

They have given us a huge upgrade on our bathroom, which is definitely highly appreciated. The work they did is more than impressive and the entire team made sure that the process as well as the billing go on smoothly and professionally. I will be using them again in years to come.

We also had him remove a large vanity in the bathroom. He found matching replacement tile to match the existing tile in the bathroom to finish off the new area of the floor that was exposed. He kept the existing vanity cabinets and had them re-stained. There was one drawer that was missing that had to be re-built and created. He installed new counter tops, sinks and new faucets. They re-aligned the wall lighting over the sinks. The shower area was very small, so they took out a wall to enlarge the shower area. They created a new shower door. They had to repair some leaking plumbing in the shower. They re-tiled the floor and the walls of the shower. They replaced a ceiling light over the shower.

Five years ago we had MK remodeling come out and do our shower which was leaking. We ended up having them redo the floors the lighting and the walls (from wallpaper to texture and paint). So when we decided to update all 2 1/2 of our bathrooms this spring, we used them again after getting an estimate from at least one other company. I'm impressed with Mike Gillis, Kristina Gillis, and James Gillis. Their estimate process and billing is very professional. Over a couple of days, the various crews who were very professional, did great work on each job, and cleaned up after themselves beautifully. They went above and beyond what was required more than once, bless their hearts! I goofed up a couple of things and they worked with me on getting it right. Because the beginning of the job coincided with my husband's total knee replacement, there were at least three days where we weren't home but the work went on with no problems! This is a company you can trust and use over the years for many things.

It was a pretty extensive remodeling of the master bedroom area. I thought the guys he had come in for doing all of the different jobs, like the electricians, guys that did cabinet work, re-staining work, and the guys that did flooring all did quality work on the job they did. They especially did quality work for all of the changing of the colors of some of the wood pieces. They showed up when they said they would show up. The clean up afterwards was done very well. There wasn't a mess all over the place at the end of the day when they finished their job. They got back to me pretty quickly if I had any questions or concerns about the work. They always gave me feedback on ideas that I would have, and would let me know if there would be any price difference for any extra work. He came up with an idea how to change the shower so I wouldn't have to add extra expense relocating a hot water heater. He gave me good feedback to help control unnecessary work and to save money. I really appreciated that.

It was a pretty good experience overall. I have no complaints about it. They had guys coming out around our schedule, so they were very accommodating. The level of communication is high as well.

They guys are great. It looked beautiful. After they were done, it looked great. They did exactly what we wanted. The customer service and the people that came in and did the work were really good. They spoke English and several times we were not home, so they came in and did the work without us being here. They were very, very trustworthy which is important because I don't like people being in my house. I wish they would've sealed off a little better because there was a lot of dust from the sanding. They tried their best, but it just gets everywhere. It took them about three weeks because they had to gut everything.

He also had a guy come in and extend the hard wood flooring because some cabinets were removed. Once the cabinets and fireplace were removed, there was unfinished flooring. He did it nicely so that you don't see a seam where the old cabinets use to end. They blended it in so that it looks like it was a complete floor to begin with. The original floor was stained and the new sections had to be sanded down and re-stained to get it to match.

They were awesome. It was done very quickly. I liked their quality of work. They have great communication. Their customer service is very good. They are very helpful and make suggestions on what should be done. I can't complain. They are very reasonable. We have used them several times. I would recommend them to anybody.

The original layout of the master bedroom and bathroom was not very functional for any kind of furniture. We had to create a true separation between the bathroom and the master suite. He took out the pony walls and the big columns and we had him close off part of the wall to create a new off center entryway from the bedroom area to the bathroom. He removed the wet bar, bar sink and fireplace off one wall and moved it to the new wall and put in the pass through fireplace. I like the effect of having a fireplace in the bedroom.

This is our second experience with MK. Both times have been terrific outcomes. We had a master bath done two years ago, and just finished a guest bath remodel and had a window replaced by a door in our master. All work is first class, cleanup,is spotless, and all the Gilles' and their crew are a pleasure to work with. Kristina is an expert at understanding your style and you can trust her choices. The second time was super quick with choices since she knows us so well. Highly recommend.
