From the outside, Skosh Monahan's looks like little more than a roadside pub. And its location, on Newport Boulevard's uninteresting East side, doesn't promise much. But restaurateur and former Costa Mesa mayor Gary "Skosh" Monahan makes… Read Full Editorial

This place is so alive! They have so many great drinks in here that comes so good with the grilled burger that they have. This is a great place to take your time.

Hot chicks and burgers by Todd B via Insider Pages on 12/5/2012
I like Skosh's. Its close to my house and is a good community sports bar with decent food. Not everything is good, but some items are pretty good like the burger and grilled artichoke. Girls are hot too.

good burgers and the chicks are hot. Not all the food is good but not a bad spot for a local sports bar and grill.
I love BEN! Married or Single he's a gentle giant by niceneasydoesit via Citysearch on 5/22/2012
The hospitality is very kind, I couldn't have trusted the new company and I forgot the haters who treated me confoundedly prior to entering this establishment. The drinks smoken and the food is a splurge. No diets here. :) I'll be back…

Skosh Monahans is not worth it. by Jeffery R via Insider Pages on 9/6/2009
The food is not bad. I enjoyed the bangers and mash, but I've had better at other places. The service is lacking, just like the other reviewers have said.
Worst Experience Ever by sweetjimmy47 via Citysearch on 2/24/2009
This was the worst dining experience I've had in the last 5 years. First there was the ambience- there's nothing wrong with sleazy dive bars, but don't try to pass yourself off as a fine-dining restaurant (with prices to match) if you are…

Worst Experience Ever by jim k via Insider Pages on 2/24/2009
This was the worst dining experience I've had in the last 5 years at least. It was so perfectly awful it was as if they tried their hardest to make every aspect of the meal suck spectacularly. First there was the ambiance- unimpressive and…
Avoid this place by mtnbk via Citysearch on 10/21/2008
Overpriced bar food, average service and mediocre atmosphere combine to make this place an unpleasant experience.
Love Skosh Monahans by ToddMcAlan via Citysearch on 8/15/2008
I just started going to Skosh Monahans a couple of months ago, and everytime I go I have a great time. I prefer to sit in the bar area because it has 5 TVs, so there is always a game on to watch. In fact, I went there last night, and the…
Great Service, Great Food, Amazing Atmosphere. by sweetmelissa21 via Citysearch on 2/2/2008
This is one of the best Irish Pubs i have ever been too. When you walk in you automatically feel at home, plus the food is great, and the service is amazing. Our waitress Missy was so attentive and friendly, we never had to wait for a…
Where's the quality service? by Tisha H via Insider Pages on 10/21/2007
Food was okay. Service was non-existent. The place was not busy when we arrived. We sat in the area in the back away from the pub for a leisurely dinner. Too many waiting periods, i.e. for a waitress. Once order was taken and meal served.…

Customers dine on steaks and seafood at this family-friendly neighborhood restaurant turned late night Irish pub.
nice little irish pub!!! by depechemode via Citysearch on 4/5/2006
This is a very cozy, very small pub. I went for St. Pattys day- it was fun, a little too much on the wild side for me, but that is just my opinion. But on a positive note, there was good music, and everyone was very very friendly.
Excellent by imnobetterthanu via Citysearch on 6/7/2005
I have been there on many occasions and the owner Gary is often there. He is a great guy and always makes me feel very comfortable and is very generous.
