Found this place on a google search for good food in Town. Ambiance is good and also the food. They have friendly and quick service crew. The place is nice. Great Food. Fast and Friendly crew. Best place to dine! Good Place, Nice Food. I will recommend this to all of my friends. Best food in town.

Inside the Mountain View Victorian building built in 1894, roomy tables adorned with hand-blown glass fill the formal room. The days of boring butter sauces and tried-but-tired French standbys are over. The kitchen offers three tasting… Read Full Editorial

Worth every penny! by Mari d via Insider Pages on 5/22/2009

We only dine at Chez TJ on special occasions but have never been disappointed.\r The setting is romantic, the staff attentive and the food is good.\r It is pricey but get dressed up and enjoy an night of good food and wine!

Would not go back by mp03dk via Citysearch on 12/20/2008

I've had ubber tasting menus with super-ubber prices, and yes this is expensive, but I think it was not outrageous. Quality was okay, but it cannot compete with the Napa equivalents.\r \r One negative I did not miss, when someone brings…

We had a good memory - not anymore! by lindseyea via Citysearch on 12/8/2008

We took my hubbys Grandma on Saturday and were very disappointed. We had the 4 courses with wine pairings, $140 each, my husband upgraded his appetizer to the fois gras (+ $15), we added one cheese plate (+ $25) with wine (+ $10 ea). With…

A century-old Mountain View Victorian houses this romantic, high-end eatery offering contemporary French cuisine with an Asian twist. by Ashley Wright via Citysearch on 10/28/2008

Special occasions draw diners to this petite, historic spot that boasts fixed menus and a list of more than 230 international wines spanning France to South America. The house's four small dining rooms are private and graceful, with…

Small Portions, Large Prices by joanhklovescody via Citysearch on 3/31/2008

Be sure to bring your own magnifying glass! The portions were too small to choke a toddler, but the bill was astronomical ($320 for the two of us). When we arrived home, my husband reached for the pizza and I grabbed a bowl of cereal. …

A Big Disappointment ! by cynthiapatrick via Citysearch on 3/3/2008

We went to this restaurant, for the first time, to celebrate my birthday In February of 2008. Compared with other French restaurants, it was a big disappointment. To start with, the girl at the desk could not find our reservation and…

Chez TJ has fallen off track by bsouth via Citysearch on 12/25/2007

Have been to Chez TJ four times in the past 3 1/2 years for b'day and other celebrations. The first visit was smooth as silk, but subsequent meals have been less than stellar. On our last visit (Dec, 2007) the meal was mediocre at best.…

Great wines by twonono via Citysearch on 11/4/2007

Dined on Friday, Nov 2 for anniversary dinner due to Michelin 2-star rated recently in the San Jose Mercury. Slight confusion when we checked in for our 7:00 pm reservation. 3 parties checked in at the same time, which should not be a…

This emperor has very few clothes by overduin via Citysearch on 10/28/2007

If all you care about is the 2 Michelin stars, then try it. But if you want a wonderful dining experience, and especially the kind of service that one might hope for at this price, go elsewhere. We have lived in the Bay Area for 5+years…

An exquisite meal, all around by chicanery via Menuism on 8/5/2007

Outstanding food and service by zhoup via Citysearch on 7/2/2006

From the moment we arrived, the staff at Chez TJ made sure that our experience was fantastic. They were attentive without being obtrusive. The food was delicious and the restaurant setting beautiful. I especially enjoyed when Chef…

Best "Special Occasion" place around by Judy K via Insider Pages on 5/15/2006

This is the one place my husband and I go for a really romantic dinner. The food is always outstanding, but can be a bit adventurous for some. Portions can appear small, but always seem to be just the right amount. Be assured you will…

Impressed with service, quality and cuisine. by duke_54 via Citysearch on 12/13/2005

When I'm in town on business this is my "close the deal' venue. I count on the professional service, excellent cuisine and a private rooms to finish my discussions with VIP clients.

A Hierarchy of Service by slvrhammer via Citysearch on 12/3/2005

This was so obnoxious. My wife and I went here for our anniversary. Everything was wonderful until dessert. The couple sitting next to us received mulitply dessert dishes "compliments of the chef", which is not a big deal, except we…

Cute, Quaint, and Expensive by Charla B via Insider Pages on 11/11/2005

If you are looking for a dining experience, Chez TJ is for you. However, note that these 5 course meals are very small (its literally a taste of food as each of the courses). Its a great place for a special date or anniversary. This is…

Excellent food, service and atmosphere by mitcheung via Citysearch on 8/24/2005

Artfully presented prix fixe dinners. Modern cuisine with masterful flavor combinations that appeal to the senses with a quiet confidence. Professional service. Very nice surroundings.

User review by helenfanig by helenfanig via Citysearch on 8/1/2005

Food is very overpriced and very small portions for being so expensive and the people that work there are very snooty.

A Magical Date with My Husband by vickiesteen via Citysearch on 5/24/2005

We had such a grand time at dinner last night. We were totally spoiled from the moment we walked through the door. We were seated at the table in the front of the bay window. On such a perfect, mild evening with the moon glowing…

High-end French Cuisine by Johannes Z. via Judy's Book on 3/7/2005

This is a perfect place for a romantic dinner or an upscale business dinner. But it definitely has its price!
