In 1989, Mr. Berglund moved to Butte County and spent a short time in the district attorney’s office. He began his private practice in April of 1990 and has been heavily involved in both civil and criminal cases ever since. Mr. Berglund represented the defendant in the most-recent Butte County death penalty case. He has also tried a number of cases involving child sexual assault, driving under the influence and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Mr. Berglund has also enjoyed a very active civil litigation practice of representing plaintiffs in civil cases. For nine years, he was employed as trial counsel by a Northern California medical malpractice insurance carrier to represent doctor’s medical malpractice cases.

As a civil attorney, Mr. Berglund has achieved some of the largest jury verdicts in the North State against such defendants as Wal-Mart and other defendants represented by some of the largest American insurance companies.?
