In Short
This L.A. institution on the thrift shop circuit benefits the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Inside, expect a haphazard smattering of furniture, clothing and housewares, some of which is a solid step up from Goodwill and… Read Full Editorial

Good shopping but a little chaotic by anekab via Citysearch on 12/3/2008

I try to visit this location every few months looking for craft finds or things to refurbish. Anything, really that catches my eye. Sometimes you have to dig or wade through racks or stacks, but there are some treasures.

Very...empty by imgoing2themoon via Citysearch on 4/6/2007

I am a thrift/vintage store junkie and this store was a major disappointment. The women's racks were practically empty and those that were hung were of poor quality. It wasn't very clean and the prices were consistent with all other Out of…

not worth it by kobe1242 via Citysearch on 3/27/2007

My daughter and myself stop at this store because we saw a great outfit in the window, when my daughter asked for it she was told no. That they don't sell window items. most items all junk.

Can't Even Donate Good Furniture by Ken M via Insider Pages on 1/18/2007

Wow... the Out of the Closet folks arrived this morning but would not take a dining table w/ chairs and a China cabinet we were trying to donate. They said it was not in good enough condition.\r \r That's a joke... I would not try to…

Good finds for a good cause by tyneshad via Citysearch on 1/8/2007

I think I found my very first old-fashioned typewriter at this place. There are treasures to be found throughout the aisles of this store, from clothing to books and furniture galore. The staff was friendly and everything was well…

High Priced Thrift Store by Teresa M via Insider Pages on 11/11/2005

After hearing about this store and the amazing items they carried I finally took a trip to see for myself. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. As an avid thrift shopper, I thought their selection was limited and over-priced. No…

Not very out-of-the-ordinary by Sara H via Insider Pages on 6/29/2005

This Out of theCloset location is not it's best. I have found the staff to be very unfriendly, and the selection is average. I often donate used items here because of the convenient location in the heart of Pasadena.

Interesting name... by Brooklyn S via Insider Pages on 6/29/2005

Of the thrift stores in the area, this is the one I frequent the least. Although they have a decent amount of goods, I have never been that thrilled with what they're selling. The store is somewhat organized and as clean as any typical…

Great Place to Donate Clothes by Tina C via Insider Pages on 6/27/2005

Everytime I clean my closet I bring bags of clothes to this store. They have a drop off space for your donations from clothes, appliance, furniture, and pretty much anything that can be reused. Friendly employees.

My Review by George H via Insider Pages on 8/31/2004

Friendly staff and wide variety of nice used garmets and accerories. Now when I am getting rid of something I donate it to this place before doing ANYTHING else with it.
