Excellent by Leannon Cara on 8/21/2020

Excellent food - limited menu, but well prepared. Plus homemade beer! The real thing. Service also excellent. Love the place and staff

This restaurant is a gem by Cletus Pastor on 6/11/2020

The menu was well-designed and has lots of variety which I like. In addition, prices were fair for the quality of the food which I appreciated so much. I love the ambiance and the location of this restaurant. This restaurant nailed it! The staff was also incredibly kind and provided top-notch service. I will definitely come back here soon.

Afghan cuisine is a great undiscovered joy, not readily available in L.A. Those who enjoy Persian, Indian or Pakistani cooking will undoubtedly find something of interest on an Afghan menu. Here, in a lovely dining room possessing both… Read Full Editorial

A well-kept secret in old town Pasadena by Roberto J via Insider Pages on 5/20/2009

This is a wonderful little restaurant, offering delicious dishes. It is literally a hole in the wall -- I probably drove by here hundreds of times before my buddy pointed it out to me a year ago. \r I highly recommend the lamb kabob --…

Interesting place by senbonzakurakageyoshi via Citysearch on 9/11/2008

I thought it would be an interesting experience to try Afghani food, but it was just kind of average...This is my first time trying Afghani food and I'm not sure what is "good" for Afghani but the food here wasn't horrible, it was simply…

Citysearch Editorial Review by Martha Burr via Citysearch on 9/10/2008

A charming glass storefront opens into a cozy, elegant room with high white ceilings rising above cushioned teak chairs, starched tablecloths, Afghan antiques and paintings. Pasadena hipsters and intellectuals gather for animated talk,…

Amazing Afghani Food at Azeen's by pleasurepalate via Menuism on 8/12/2008

It's funny, how I'll go to a restaurant once and blog about it, but then I won't write about a restaurant...

bad managment by Jesse H via Insider Pages on 5/5/2008

The food was very good. My girlfriend found a hair in her pudding, which other wise was very good. I had already sent back a tea cup with the rim covered in chap stick. The waitress took the pudding away. The owner then brought it back to…

Great Food! by pasresident via Citysearch on 10/21/2007

I've eaten here a few times and each time I try something new, and have never been disappointed. The hot tea is great too. It has an elegant but family-owned feeling that gives it great charm. There's a lot of love and care put into…

Delicious kabab and great service by silly659 via Citysearch on 4/16/2007

Our first time trying Afghanastani food, and maybe it was because I was craving Kabab, but this was really good juicy chicken kabab. The rice with it was sooo good too. I came home trying to find recipes online for the rice but couldn't…

Fantastic Cuisine- a MUST TRY! by daisylind via Citysearch on 11/3/2006

I first tried Afghan cuisine up in Santa Cruz, and ever since, have been searching high and low for a place here in LA- and this is it! Azeen's was a fantastic experience; my parents and I had a very nice, elegant dinner. Our waitress…

Fabulous Food! by exilekiss via Citysearch on 9/23/2006

We decided to try this restaurant based off Citysearch Reviews, and it was our first time trying Afghani food. We were worried at first (not sure what to order, and what it'd taste like), but after the warm, hospitable welcome by the staff…

Wow!!! by John F via Insider Pages on 9/21/2006

Working in Pasadena I thought I had been to all the local restaurants. Boy, was I mistaken. In an area that is quickly becoming devoid of character, Azeen's is a shining star. I know what you're thinking, "what the hell is Afghani…

Great Afghani Food by whiskerd via Citysearch on 9/3/2006

My wife and I love this place. We go quite a bit. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Service is good. Go there with an appetite because the portions are filling. The restaraunt itself is very nice.

delicious by johnserene via Citysearch on 8/14/2006

I went here with my friends after work and couldn't be happier. The food was great and the people all seemed to be having a wonderful time. The coffee is really good too!

A great place by moon_chi via Citysearch on 8/14/2006

this was a fantastic place. I really enjoyed the service. And lets not leave out the food, no? one word, tasty

flawless by melly1 via Citysearch on 7/26/2006

This is the best meal I've had in a long time. We were welcomed by a charming hostess who oozed afghani culture, asked us if we had ever eaten afghani before, and gave us a brief but informative introduction to the food. I wasn't very…

Superb...I want it again tonight, and tomorrow night, and the next! by Lindsay B via Insider Pages on 10/27/2005

This restaurant is a phenomenal place to eat, by far the best that I have been to in the Los Angeles area, and I eat out ALOT! The meat on the kebabs is so flavored and tender that I found myself taking miniscule bites as to make it last…

The most absolutely succulent chicken ever. Period. by Rob M via Insider Pages on 8/31/2005

Succulent isn't a word I toss around but it is the only way to describe the chicken kabob. I'd never had Afghani food before and this was a very welcome introduction. Start with some sambosa and enjoy the chicken, rice and the bread. There…

Loved the food by Bj B via Insider Pages on 7/16/2005

I was so excited when my friend suggested we try eating here. It was so good and the service was friendly and personal. It made me want to go to Afghanistan myself. I love the cardamom tea and the kabobs with all the spices. Go here…

Good stuff by Gavin W via Insider Pages on 4/7/2005

The reviews on this place are accurate-- The lamb is great, not gamey at all. Their bread is also very soft and mildly sweet, a good compliment to the dishes! Service is good, too.

My Review by Jill K via Insider Pages on 11/19/2004

Good food, great staff. It's cool that this place is there. The eggplant is absolutely delightful- full of flavor, almost curry like. Nice place to go for lunch.
