We are not trying to be dramatic when we tell you that the portions at Andy Beardslee's funky restaurant are in fact monstrously big. Generosity aside, this place is pure fun. Best known as a breakfast spot, Hash House also serves up… Read Full Editorial

Large portions and a long wait but worth a try.

My Review by joel1093716621 via Citysearch on 5/1/2014

Big portions and a long wait for brunch with that being said it is worth it. The food is good and the staff is nice. If you're visiting SD it is worth a visit.

My Review by samuelr1114833102 via Citysearch on 12/18/2012

Good place to come for breakfast, but come hungry because the portions are huge. Also, there is usually a long line, so reserve or be prepared to wait.

The flavor was good and the food seemed fresh.

On a scale of 5.Service 5Price 4Ambiance 3Food 4The service stands out here and the prices are cheap considering you get portions that can feed 2.

Best brunch by Guest G. via Judy's Book on 12/27/2010

I used to come here all the time for Sunday brunch, but these days it's hard to get a spot on a weekend (even on a Friday). The wait is THAT long. Their biscuits are to die for, the food is delicious, and the service is great. The portions…

Not bad by Trisha N. via Judy's Book on 10/29/2010

I have never been to this location but I have tried the one in Las Vegas inside the Imperial Palace and I liked it.

Nice breakfast joint by Don G. via Judy's Book on 9/5/2010

I was somewhat upset waiting an hour to get into this place. I was upset for exactly that long. Once I saw the interior, I felt like this was my kind of place. Once I saw the meals... I can say I am officially hooked. I am inviting people…

YUM! by Allison C via Insider Pages on 5/10/2010

This place is SO good for breakfast. I highly recommend it. The portions are HUGE, so bring your appetite or a doggie bag!

A must to visit! by bozley via Citysearch on 11/3/2009

I had been waiting to go to this place for a long time and was not disappointed one bit! The food was amazing and the portions….OMGosh….were they huge! Even if you go starving you will definitely leave with leftovers. Lewis was our server…

COME STARVING AND READY TO EAT!! by mj1523 via Citysearch on 2/6/2009

At Hash House A Go Go it's all about QUANTITY and QUALITY!! Not only do they give you a huge plate of whatever you ordered, its soo good!! I have to visit this place everytime I drive down to San Diego. So far been there twice and its been…

Perfect for the Hummer drivers of San Diego. by AmirTalai via Citysearch on 11/29/2008

excessive portions, wait times, and prices.\r \r the food is good. so what? does that justify waiting 45 minutes to get a table for 2 for a weekend brunch, and spending $11 for a pancake? Why is the pancake so expensive? Is it made with…

fun & huge portions by sopho via Citysearch on 9/30/2008

The portions here are huge (think italian family dining portions, only it's a serving for ONE here). This place is really busy and is best known for their breakfast items. Their pancakes are the size of manhole covers (not exaggerating).…

Not sure if it's worth the wait by jomarkumar423 via Citysearch on 1/2/2008

One of the first weekends my wife and I lived in San Diego, we heard rave reviews of this place for breakfast. Having dined there, I'm not sure if we would ever go back. We were warned to get their early (especially on Sundays) otherwise…

Breakfast is the most important, and expensive, meal of the day by brightlighter via Citysearch on 10/4/2007

Hash House has consistently (the 2 times I've been there) gave me the best breakfast experience of my life. The service is great (think friendly, normal-sized suicide girls,) the atmosphere is original (farm/industrial,) and the portions…

A complete circus and total utter visual... by SarahS2 via Menuism on 9/26/2007

Hash House a NO NO!! by ramouuse via Citysearch on 8/16/2007

Based on the reviews of this restaurant, my family and I were eager to try this place out. We were extremely disappointed with the food. Yes, you get huge portions, but that is not a positive thing when the food is bland and over…

Arrive very hungry! by ebayfoodie via Citysearch on 6/29/2007

My original intention was to visit this place for its mouth-watering breakfast menu, but due to time constraints, my family ended up here for dinner - sure glad it worked out that way! The service was super-friendly, attentive, and very…

Sometimes Less is More by bluefooter via Citysearch on 2/27/2007

Sometimes I feel as though the ginormous portions detract from the skillful preperation of the food. The menu is innovative and easy to navigate and who could resist the likes of their house scrambles? with sure fire hits like smoked…

Best Breakfast in San Diego by blackberrylaw via Citysearch on 2/4/2007

Without a doubt, Hash House has the best breakfast in the city. Granted, the lines can be atrocious on a Saturday or Sunday morning, but even a 30-minute wait in the mid-summer morning sun shouldn't deter you from trying any of the…
