Established in 1972 in the heart of the Financial District, the Royal Exchange is San Francisco’s home to the best crowd, the biggest beer selection, and a whole lot of history. With 72 taps, 32 microbrews, and eight rotating handles, our Irish pub is truly a beer lover’s dream. For more than four decades, we’ve been hosting the city’s best St. Patrick’s Day parties, showing every Giants and Golden State Warriors game, and serving our favorite American dishes. All this to say, there’s a reason your friends are always telling you, “I’ll meet you at the Royal.”

Drink up. by Richard C via Insider Pages on 6/17/2010
Nice downtown watering hole, especially weekends. This is a real suit and tie joint. If your a broad that's into that, this is the place for you. If you work in the area, it's definately worth stopping by for half a dozen martinis.

Sardine City by lkcoops via Citysearch on 11/16/2006
The last place I want to be Friday after work is a bar crammed with people, at least a 20 minute wait for a beer and hot, stale air. There is nothing calming and relaxing about this place. If you enjoy re-living frat parties from your…

Crowded! by shoegal84 via Citysearch on 7/7/2006
This place is crowded at all times. Whether you go in for lunch, or after work for happy hour. However, it is worth it. The chili is delicous, they make a decent burger and beef dip, and the grilled flat iron steak is…
Overpriced boring financial district spot by colu via Citysearch on 6/22/2006
Your typical array of meathead jocks and their hangers on congregate here after work to booze and mingle. BORING! On top of the mindless clientele, the drinks are overpriced and the service is way below average, but they remain entitled…
