This corner bakery's two wall-size windows make for lots of natural light, an airy atmosphere, and good people-watching (assuming you can find a place to sit). More a destination than a place to linger, be prepared to stand in line while… Read Full Editorial

What I love the most about this bakery shop is the level of customer service they give to every customer, regardless of whether you buy just a few or in bulk. Really appreciate that.

If you are a bread lover, you can't miss the opportunity to visit this bakery every now and then. I'm sure you'll love them.

We usually buy from this bakeshop whenever we have celebrations at home. They serve the best sansrival in town. Its chewy and creamy with lots of cashew nuts! Yummy!

Their breads are so deliciously baked. I love eating their breads with a cup of coffee. That?s satisfying.

This bake shop was here in decades. This is where my mom bought my first birthday cake and now my wedding cake. This bake shop is a part of my life milestone.

I am really amazed that these guys are here in the city. I can always go here and they will have a fresh batch of loaves on the rack ready for their customers.

This is really a good place to be in the morning, the smell alone is enough to pick you right up, and I just love the smell of good baking in the morning.

I never thought that I would go for a place like this one. They have a great selection of bread in here. There are also dinner rolls and they have some of the best pastries out there.

Hot tip: their famous bread is only available Tuesday through Sunday after five o'clock in full or half loaves and sells out fast. I recommend getting there at 4:50PM day of. \r

Second inside tip: You can also pre-order bread two days…
best lemon tart by GinieParrot via Citysearch on 6/15/2010
They consistently make the best pies and our favorite is the lemon tart. Everything is fresh daily and at a fantastic level but I have often circled for 20 minutes just to find a parking space 6 blocks away! but it is worth it.
YUM by ChrissieZ via Citysearch on 5/19/2009
I stumbled upon this bakery whilst holidaying in San Fran and was in heaven. The range of gourmet sandwiches, pastries and desserts. The cinnamon scrolls here were divine. However the service was really poor and not the usual friendly US…
burned croissant by lulumo123 via Citysearch on 3/3/2009
I have been now to Tartine about 5 times. I am now hesitant to return. The almost $ 4 croissant with almond today was definitely burned and hard, the expensive croque monsieur really nothing special. Tartine is definitely overpriced and…

This is a great brunch spot. I especially like the goat cheese sandwich, which is enough to feed two people.
What's this all about? by methila via Citysearch on 9/23/2008
I've been to Tartine a few times and every time i go i want to try to understand what the fuss is all about. The long lines, the stuffy air inside, the idiotic method of serving customers by one person and then paying someone else, and of…

Delicious food, go early! by foodielover via Citysearch on 3/22/2008
Finally got here early enough to find parking (9am) and walked 1 blk, lo & behold - no lines and an open table to boot. After purchasing a plain croissant (very crispy outside, flaky, moist inside), a chocolate croissant (it was ok), a…
Not at all pretentious - marvelous lemon meringue cake by KristinRozsa via Citysearch on 2/17/2008
Visiting Tartine for the first time, one would expect this well-known bakery to be quite easy to find when passing by. However, this isn't the case. When you "find" Tartine, you feel as iff you have found a treasure. The line may be…
